Actually IIRC from the OWC site you can do this on newer Minis. I’ve got a 2009 Mini where I removed the optical drive and moved the 500GB HDD into that slot, then installed a 120GB SSD in the regular slot. I don’t know how they do it for the shorter newer Minis.

I know it is not *easy* but all mac mini’s have the capacity, so don’t listen to the “DUMMY” that says it would make the mini too big to have space for a hard drive…. check this link, iFixit has kits and instructions:

I hope that new Macs will appear soon. I want to upgrade my MBP and will take the plunge with the new version if it is a significant upgrade. Usually I buy the previous version to save some money but this time will go for the new one especially if it has an SSD.
There isn’t much room in a Mac mini to add a second HD. My previous gen mini has three drives attached to it and works well as a media server and backup machine.
