The film chronicling the life of Steve Jobs, the Apple Inc. co-founder, begins principal photography in June and will film early scenes in the actual Los Altos home where Jobs grew up and in the historic garage where he and Steve Wozniak founded Apple.

Titled jOBS, the biopic stars Ashton Kutcher as the iconic Silicon Valley visionary, and will shed new light on Steve Jobs’ most defining and personal moments, motivations, and the people that drove him. The film covers Jobs from his early years as an impressionable youth and wayward hippie, through his initial successes and infamous ousting, to his storybook return and ultimate triumphs as a man who set out to change the world and did just that.
Executive producer Mark Hulme and Five Star Feature Films launched the production immediately following Jobs’ retirement in August 2011. Screenwriter Matt Whiteley, while penning the script, utilized a team of expert researchers based on months of exhaustive research and interviews with Steve Jobs’ friends, colleagues, and mentors to develop the most truthful and gripping picture of Jobs’ life.
From director Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote, Neverwas), and Oscar winning cinematographer Russell Carpenter (Titanic), jOBS details the major moments and defining characters that influenced Steve Jobs on a daily basis from 1971 through 2000.

yes, this will definitely put the ‘bs’ back in ‘Jobs’….
Seems to me that if they start filming in June & release late this fall, that’s going to be one of the fastest editing jobs to be done in movie history. The pressure to met a release date like that fits the Jobsian work ethic.
They have to get it done and released ASAP before the real Steve Jobs feature film premieres.

Yes, the Sorkin film that is based on Isaacson’s book. Sorkin has hired Woz as an advisor on the film. Oh, and this one won’t have Ashton Kutcher in it, so it may actually be watchable.

What’s with the funky capitalization of the title?
Yeah, I really don’t like that. An obvious attempt to make a play on the “iPod/iPad/iMac” thing, but it doesn’t work.
No, it does NOT work. It remindes me, instead, of the ass-backwards way a Windoze machine screws up your typing when you forget that you have the caps lock key down and…whatever. You all know what I mean and that’s what it reminds me of, and it makes me feel dirty.

You have the cast, Kutcher and for crew, the Director! Now either this is gonna be what you call a “short” film. OR, and more plausible, anyone and everyone of REAL importances has already been listed!

Sheen was becoming increasingly pathetic in Men during several last season (closely tracking his own private decline).
Kutcher injected freshness. Not to mention that at this point, he is clearly a better actor than Sheen.
How someone with such great talent and craft can degrade his skill (and waste the gift) is still baffling to me. Sheen was one of the most gifted of his generation. At his peak, his acting craft was quite good. It is amazing how some people believe that acting is a gift and that you either have it or don’t. Well, anyone in the business knows it is a skill, which you acquire by studying it, and sustain by working on it. Of course, you must have the talent, but, much like playing a musical instrument, you MUST work on your acting craft every day. Sheen did not, so he lost it completely. Kutcher does, and it shows.
Kutcher will be a good Jobs, but I’m still curious about the Sorkin script and the cast / crew that ends up attached to that project.
I guess the only thing that can stop this is if Ashton gets hit by a bus.
