“Verizon has created a new television spot featuring the Apple iPhone 4S. It’s a Sir-focused spot featuring Samuel L. Jackson,” Matthew Panzarino reports for TNW.
“The spot appears to be a Verizon spot that was produced with the official Apple logos, making it ‘official’, but may not have been produced by Apple’s agency TBWA\Chiat\Day,” Panzarino reports. “Apple hasn’t used a celebrity endorsement in its commercials in some time, so this marks a bit of a departure for the company if it was produced jointly.”
Panzarino reports, “An advert for Sprint [and Apple iPhone 4S plus Siri] featuring actress Zooey Deschanel has surfaced [as well].”

I recognized Siri, but who were the other people in the ads?
Samuel L. Jackson, the master of bebop cool (and, according to Guinness, the highest-grossing film actor of all time). ( source)
I guess you don’t go to the movies. Or watch them at home.
Um, why is Apple letting this happen? Cheapens the brand. Kinda feels like something Microsoft would do.
True. But they would feature the teenie bopper stars for whom MS gives away concert tickets at their store openings.
Ugh, Zooey Deschanel is a terrible “actress”.
Is not.
But she can come spend the night with me anytime.
Only if I let her go 😉
Celebrity endorsements is surprising. Why put the focus on these actors when the real star is the product itself?
I prefer the commercials that focused on the product in action with a voiceover.
I kind of like it, sort of brings the brand to a new level. Sort of an assistant that you can always rely upon.
Saw both ads “in the wild” while watching the Stanley Cup playoffs tonight.
My take was that the ads show how Siri can help the mentally challenged deals with daily life. 😉
Wow, someone who constructed that last sentence of yours should not be calling others mentally challenged.
Seriously? Pretty tough criticism of a tongue-in-cheek comment with a *one letter* typo. Aside from which, the grammar is correct.
Your comment on “mentally challenged” individuals is unnecessary and in poor taste.
Played the ads… They seemed to lack Apple-esque style!
I have had it with this m**** fu********** SIRI on this m**** fu*********** PHONE!
And what was Siri’s response to that?
she said ‘Samuel….get another m**** fu******* agent’
Rats, I was hoping for something like, “I have found 3 Cougar incest clubs fairly close to you.”
Or the broadcast safe: “I have had it with this monkey fighting SIRI on this Monday to Friday PHONE!”
I’d love to see the Sam Jackson outtakes…
Check out the new Windows Phone ads featuring Gomer Pyle.
A few things, one, how much do peoPle really use Siri? U know that I don’t that much but I do live in Australia and we can’t have anything to do with maps or businesses… And also a quick question if you have to leave ios and go to another phone would you pick windows phone or android? Just wondering
Windows phone of course. Not ’cause it’s any good, but ’cause Android is a ripoff of iOS and if you were leaving iOS why go to the same thing but crappier?
As for Siri she is great with the reminders and finding places, for me that’s it.
…was waitin’ for Samuel L. Jackson to ask Siri to “get these mothafuckin’ snakes offa my mothafuckin’ plane!”
can’t resist..
lol, that’s great. thanks, FTB.
