Apple wins patents for future multi-positional iPad stand, core multi-touch tech and multi-touch iPod nano design

“The US Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of thirteen newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.

“The notables within this group include patents covering the design of the iPod nano; Apple’s fun and goofy photo booth application; another core multi-touch patent gift wrapped for their legal team and finally, a granted patent for a future built-in multi-positional stand for the iPad,” Purcher reports. “Apple’s proposed stand would provide users with superior angulation for typing on the iPad’s virtual keyboard in landscape mode.”

  1. I’ve been looking online for something that would be like the overbed sickbay readers found in Star Trek to enable an iPad to float in front of you without having to support it yourself. Sort of an ultimate couch potato thing only you’re in bed. Seen a few iPad bed stands made in China that look interesting. With the new retina display iPads it’s only going to make it even more appealing for all forms of media consumption, in bed! Assuming it doesn’t keep you up all night. 🙂
