Former SGI surprises Apple with another patent infringement lawsuit

The previous patent infringement lawsuit also included defendants Nintendo and Acer. This time around, GPH is focused solely on Apple.”

  1. You can generically patent using a display with higher resolution?

“Large Area Wide Aspect Ratio Flat Panel Display Having High Resolution for High Information Content Display.”

    Stupid.

    1. There’s a lot more to the patent than the stupid title of it. Read the patent before passing a flash judgement. SGI was a pioneer in high end graphic through to some of the first high end LCDs.

I’m not on SGI’s side here, but we all know that they were into high end graphics before Apple ever was and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them win this legal case or at least some of it.

Just like I think that Apple is a pioneer in delivering the very best multitouch stuff, you have to give credit where credit is due.
