“Last week Apple was granted two high profile multi-touch related patents and today they’ve been granted yet another pair,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.
“The first relates to a new True Multi-Touch Digital Controller and the second one relates to hover and gesture detection that uses a capacitive sensor panel having dynamically reconfigurable sensor size and shape,” Purcher reports. “Most noteworthy is the fact that the technology applies to both iOS devices and Macs, according to the patent.”
Purcher reports, “It now appears that there may be a massive new wave of the original Apple touch patents going through the system and Google likely knows it too: Hence [Google’s recent] whining.”

Hope this helps stop the copycats:-)
These innovative patents are stifling innovation. They must be shared with google so that google can innovate. Otherwise the patent system is bust.
TIC.
Only one company needs to worry about innovations, and apple is handling that quite well, all “other” companies need to start by securing they’re OS before they need to worry bout “innovating” ANYTHING new.
Lol! Hilarious!
Keep it coming. The more the better. Every time a new patent approval for Apple is announce, the copy cats cringe and their sphincter muscles tightens up just a weeeee bit more! hehe
No fair. Hover and gesture detection was patented in 1928:
