“The first iPhone 4S deliveries have already started arriving in customers’ hands,” Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.
“Several German customers have received their new phones several days before the official launch,” Kim reports. “The iPhone 4S officially goes on sale on Friday, October 14th with pre-orders scheduled to be arriving on the same day.”
Kim reports, “At this point, if you haven’t pre-ordered a device, the only way to get the iPhone 4S on launch day will be to stand in line at a local retail store.”

Damnable AT&T will not permit me to purchase an upgrade until Dec but will get a 4S then.
I am a good customer of AT&T and they have always allowed me to upgrade even if my plan was not finished, but not this time!
They’re making us wait ’til February – got our iPhone 4s the first day they were available too, and have been loyal AT&T customers for ten years. Go figure!
You have a 2 year contract and they’re letting you upgrade before it’s up. What’s damnable about that? I think it’s quite good of them that I can upgrade in month 17 of a 24 month deal.

Hey, you guys are all lucky. We are an AT&T Enterprise customer (government), and though we got our orders in early and they promised we’ll receive this week, they sent out an email yesterday. Here is the text of the email:
“Due to the overwhelming demand for pre-orders of iPhone 4S, we are adjusting the expected date of shipment for orders placed in Phoenix and Premier. Effective Immediately, October 9, 2011, all orders placed for all models of iPhone 4S will be delivered in 21 to 28 days. All models of iPhone 4 8GB continue be shipped in 10 to 14 days. We will send further communication if shipping expectations change.”
I am not happy at all.
Well you should be. iPhone 4 hit my country 4-5 months after launched. I reckon iPhone 4S will be that late too.

If I could move to Unicom with my old phone number I would be there already, my iPad is already there and handles all the data, and lot of phone calls too with Skype.
