First hands on video of iPhone 4S with benchmarks, ‘Raise to Speak’ feature

“It seems someone has gotten hold of an iPhone 4S ahead of launch, “Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.

“Video from AppVV.com shows off a new iPhone 4S with some early benchmarks,” Kim reports. “It also shows the Siri settings interface which allows you to turn Siri On/Off, change Language Settings, Voice feedback, My Info and enable Raise to Speak.”

Kim reports, “Early Sunspider marks show a total score of 2222.1ms and a BrowserMark score of 89567. For comparison, it appears that the BrowserMark score for an iPhone 4 running iOS 5 is 44856, so the new iPhone 4S benches twice as fast in the browser.”

  1. Hate to disappoint you Apple fanbois but if a smartphone doesn’t have built-in NFC, 4G and a 4.5″ display, no consumer will touch it. This isn’t 2007, you know. A 3.5″ display is like looking at a stamp-sized display compared next to the honking-huge, man-sized Galaxy S II display. BTW, Android had voice control ever since Android 1.0. Apple is just getting around to making a poor copy. No sale. Apple isn’t fooling anyone with last year’s iPhone 4 with an “S” stenciled on it.

Amazon is already building the Fire smartphone that will sell for $50 with their specially forked Android OS and do nearly everything the iPhone 4S will do and Wall Street is already predicting it will put Apple out of the smartphone business by selling in huge volumes.

    1. To TheWiseInvestor…. You’re kidding, right? LOL Not saying the Fire won’t sell, but suggesting it will “put Apple out of the smartphone business” is a pretty strong statement. Good luck with that.

    2. NFC….. only a handful want it.

Have you read the voice control Vs Siri discussions?..
      Siri smokes android again..

you fail to mention that Android had STOLEN code from day one. you fail to mention that many of the android things that Apple has now, CAME from the jailbreak scene.. Notification center was on an iPhone 6 months before Android. Android pushed it to market, Apple waited.
Go do research.. Intelliscreen and status notifier were on iPhones before Android ever shipped.. i’m not going to do the research for you.

and unless you are trollin… you are an idiot.

    3. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

      Seriously?
Have you ever used Android voice control?
And since when do I want a small TV in my pocket?
      Please stop using computers.

    4. By the way, if it hadn’t been for apple, your android wouldn’t exist!

Look it up in History, Apples iOS was stolen while Eric the mole Smith (or whatever his name is) was at the board at apple.

I think you trolls owe apple a big apology for your failed comments!

    5. Dear Troll,

Over 1 million pre-orders in 24 hours and you say, “no consumer will touch it”??

Second, though the Samsung, other-wise knows as copied, wanna-be iPhone, does has voice control, so does the current iPhone. Siri is not a simple voice control as it is an assistant that communicates with you and for you and there has not been anything else like it in the market other than perhaps in Star Trek.

Third, bigger screen means pixelation. The iPhone has more pixel resolution than the bigger screens and who rally wants to carry a bigger screen? Just get an iPad and be done with your bigger screen argument.

Fourth, look that the iPhone can get 4G speeds on a3G network. And what is greater than the limited 4G nationwide coverage? You got it, 3G.

Fifth, NFC, is a neat technology for some but I doubt most people are ready for it considering there is still uncertainty especially with identity theft. Also, it would be easy for someone to read your NFC without you even being aware of it. NFC has a future but it isn’t now.

Lastly, Android is an operating system marred by fragmentation and viruses that may eventually be replaced by Windows or by some new OS that isn’t a direct copy of other’s IP. People aren’t moving from Apple to Android no matter how cheap Android becomes. You get what you pay for.

    6. If this is not ZuneTang™, then ZT™ should sue for copyright infringement. Maybe ZT™ realized he needed to get a new handle after the Beloved Zune was discontinued.

    7. “Hate to disappoint you Apple fanbois but if a smartphone doesn’t have built-in NFC, 4G and a 4.5″ display, no consumer will touch it.“

You mean no phone nerd will touch it. One million consumers have already pre-ordered it.

  2. Raise to Speak: simply raise the phone to your ear and begin speaking to Siri. No buttons. The proximity sensor activates Siri.

I was REALLY hoping there would be something like this. I’m surprised Apple never mentioned it.
