Apple to retail staff: Be trained in iOS 5 and iCloud by September’s end

“Apple is trying to fast track the training of retail employees in the proper use of iOS 5 and iCloud ahead of their early October debuts,” John Brownlee reports for Cult of Mac.

“According to one of our sources, corporate managers are currently visiting select Apple Retail stores ahead of a prospective October launch of the next iPhone,” Brownlee reports. “While Apple is tight lipped about upcoming product plans even amongst its retail staff, these corporate managers are making a point of telling Apple Store employees to get their RetailMe courses on iOS 5 and iCloud done by the end of September.

    1. I know lots of folks work for Apple in Cupertino. And I know lots of folks who would do anything to work there. TI have a hunch that you know none. You know Apple gets about 10,000 applicants for each job they advertise. You should be so lucky. But I suspect they would not even interview you.

    2. This former employee loved working there. Great people, great customers (for the most part). The only reason I left was because it was a second job to teaching and I wasn’t able to add the minimum 18 hours/week to my 40 full time. There was very much a team feeling to working there and I (obviously) still “cheer” them on.

  1. All the employees are getting is a packaged version of the information on iCloud and iOS 5 that already appears on Apple’s website. There is NEVER and HAS never been a time when the retail employees knew of anything ahead of time (except for Joint Venture).
