Anonymous claims DNS attacks against Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Symantec, and others

“The Sri Lankan branch of Anonymous claims to have hacked into the DNS servers of Symantec, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, and several other large organizations over the past few days,” Lance Whitney reports for CNET.

“Posting the news and records of its exploits on Pastebin, the group is taking credit for launching ‘DNS Cache Snoop Poisoning’ attacks against its victims,” Whitney reports. “In the record of its DNS attack against Symantec, Anonymous Sri Lanka boasts that it breached the ‘world’s second-largest software (antivirus) leader/giant’ and says that it captured almost the entire DNS pool, including the company’s corporate customers, production servers, and testbeds.”

Whitney reports, “The group touted the same DNS Cache Snoop Poisoning attacks against Facebook, Skype, Apple, Cisco, Microsoft, and Novell.”

So I take it that Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple to take up the reins of running things back in Syria as its next dictator after Assad.

  1. “The group tried to justify its actions in some of its comments. Lashing out at Facebook, Anonymous Sri Lanka said…”

Wow! You petulant little shits! If you want to lash out at somebody, how about hacking and destroying the world’s child pornography sites, or the information networks used to commit terrorism, or support massive international crime.

    1. Exactly.

I’m amazed by how smart and clever computers engineers are. What they did to Sony and others is mind blowing to me. It would be cool if some of these groups would do much needed good.

  2. Those Anonymous weenies really really need to get out of their parents basements and laid. I say all instead of alerting the legal authorities, Apple and the other victims should alert some local pimps and send some hookers to these guys houses STAT!!!

  3. Congratulations, Anonymous, nobody cares. Thank you for exposing yourselves to corporations with the resources to hunt you down so that you can be arrested like the terrorists you are.
