I can’t wait to get this on my iPad 2. Amazing new stuff.
Hey Droids, whats up now?
Mirroring to a TV might turn out to be one of the biggest features.
And what’s with the obnoxious spin the media have been putting on yesterday’s announcements? I’ve heard three different media outlets characterize it all as “Apple playing catchup” to Google and Amazon. Why must there always be some sort of negative Apple spin from these people. And who in the hell writes their copy. How is it they three independent outlets say the same damn thing – “Apple playing catchup……blah blah blah”.
Apple does not play catchup. When Apple is not playing “stay way ahead”, they’re playing “pass up”.
when you have lapped the field multiple times and most of another lap someone who isn’t paying attention thinks you are playing catch up!!
Good one.
Whoopee! iOS5 gives us email flagging! iOS6 will give us junk-mail filtering and iOS7, tags…? And probably still with stupid boring dull pinstripes! Truly groundbreaking stuff ! yawn
I had someone complain about the inability to change the volume on their iPad yesterday. I pointed out the volume buttons. He was thrilled.
For normal people, this is significant advancement. Get some perspective before you spout your hater bullshit.
Oh please pardon me, what was I thinking speaking my mind here! Whip me with pinstripes! I LOVE my iPhone, except for the shortcomings I wish Apple would stop overlooking and narrow-minded individuals like you would stop justifying! iForget, it’s only pinstriped opinions that count in the iClouds.
U don’t get it. Apple starts small, like no copy paste, but when they add the features they work well. These are not made for everyone, just most of us.
Really, how many normal users need tagging? Really?
Define “normal….” Millions of Android users use it, I want to use it. When you have numerous email accounts, doesn’t it make sense to tag emails in the global inbox, “private”, “work req”, contact ASAP”, etc (whatever) rather than sweeping left and right between screens? And why is it near impossible to use an iPhone with your left hand? And why is there a big stupid ugly microphone in place of my voice memo’s list? Just two of the little niggles that could so easily be rectified if Apple would just take their heads out of the iCloud for a minute and listen to what “normal” users would like… Oh, and did I mention that I seriously dislike pinstripes? BUT other than some little annoyances IMO the iPhone is almost the best smartphone available. It’s so close to being the absolute best, yet in some realistic ways, also so far!
WP7 have all those features now. what’s new from crapple ?
I actually chuckled out loud when I read your post, you wintrolls have gone from annoying to pathetic and now to funny. Pleas stay there (delusional) at least it’s amusing.
-I used to be disgusted
Now I try to be amused
Yours is 6 inches, mine is 7. Theirs is only 5. Get over it dude, its not a war, just an OS.
Do you get like this when talking about underwear?
Who has the time on their hands to go into forums for products they clearly don’t like and throw poo like an ape in the zoo?
Don’t like Apple? Fine. Think you have chosen the superior product? Good for you. Those of us here could truly care less. So, really, what do you hope to accomplish? Gonna make us all suddenly wake up to the horrible mistake we made being fans of a company who has SO outperformed the competition that, as of Friday, it was worth more than MS and Intel COMBINED? How’s that working out for ya?
Between those three major announcements yesterday, I think it’s safe to say that Apple has pissed off more competitors than ever, all in one fell swoop.
And last week’s informal “sneak peek” at Windows8 is now even funnier than it was then. MS thought it could somehow head off Apple at the pass with that lame shite.
Tiles, tiles, tiles! I want tiles, because I prefer to not know where one application ends and another begins. I want them all merged into one heaving chunk.
-and more importantly tiles confuse the UI as to differences between information display and applications
Predictability, consistency, and intuitiveness are the hallmarks of a good interface, win-mo is defficent in all of them. (ie it isn’t very predictable consistent nor intuitive) You can make a intriguing demonstration, but without those keystones, in general, the user experience tends to be poor.
Even if they had stopped at Reminders, iMessage, Notifications, and the new Safari, I would have been hooked.
Will iOS 5 add all the features to the CDMA iPhone 4 like that are on the GSM one?
