I indeed had this problem last weeek…good they solved it
good they fixed it so fast, that bug froze my 13″ MBA three times already. Yes, it froze the whole system. I have never had that since using OS X (since 2002). And even before that, with OS 8 and 9, crashes were very rare for me.

So it makes it act like a windows machine? 😉
.
Not exactly – there was no blue screen. Other than that, yes.
I’m just glad it was fixed quickly. In the future I’ll likely wait to see if any issues arise before updating.
Glad I bought an 11″ MacBook Air. By the way, its perfect in every respect.
I just bought a 13″ 128GB MacBook Air – Gota wait 3 days 🙁 worth the wait? 😉
Let me guess… beta testers forgot to test something? Yup.
I encountered this problem on my 13″ MBA a few days ago, downloaded the fix yesterday, no more problems. I came across several suggestions in forums Tuesday. I checked file permissions and was amazed at the number of files with bad permissions. Fixing resolved the problem for about an hour, then it came back, with more permissions errors. How do file permissions get out of whack?
3rd party installers don’t always set file permissions back to the way it should be after installing large applications.
The happy-go-lucky days of one OS X fits all appear to be over.
This is not the first occasion on which Apple has issued an OS patch specific to the hardware configuration of a particular Mac model or family. Are you facetiously suggesting that the sky is falling?
