Brad McCarty reports for The Next Web, “If you’ve been trying to check your BlackBerry messages today and aren’t getting anything, you’re apparently not alone.”
MacDailyNews Take: What is this, 2004? That’s the last time we “checked our BlackBerry messages.” It’s amazing that some people today are so far behind the times.
McCarty continues, “According to widespread reports, it seems that RIM’s BlackBerry network is having some problems today… We’re seeing reports from literally hundreds of Twitter users, and BGR has gotten a number of direct reports as well… According to a source with Sprint, the outage started at 5pm Eastern time yesterday and continued fully until 11:06 AM Eastern time today. While the fix is not completely rolled out to all users, it should be quite soon.”

MacDailyNews Take: DingleBerry.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Readers “Eugenio V.” and “Lynn W.” for the heads up.]
I just read on Twitter that it’s back in Cairo. Maybe they’re cycling service worldwide.
Makes no sense
You buy crap, you get crap. Period.
Brings new meaning to “BlackBerry Storm”
So, do they have their own satellite in orbit? A giant flying dingleberry?
Single point of failure. Brilliant.
The satellite actually orbits Uranus!
“literally hundreds”…oh my!
It’s the sort of thing you’d imagine would happen when you try and turn a one-trick pony text pager into a do-everything ‘smart’ gadget.
Silly Canadians…stick to making yellow beer and leave this “complicated” tech stuff the the professionals…
Literally hundreds?
…. So, all of their customers?
I’m not seeing this reported anywhere else.
If your service goes down and nobody notices, are you still in business?
DingleBerries?
Klingons around Uranus!
What is a Blackberry? I thought Blackberrys were replaced by smartphones?
Blackberries suck iPhone FTW!!!!!

“Silly Canadians…stick to making yellow beer…”
Have you ever tasted Canadian beer? Much better than the warmed up gnats’ urine that passes for mass-produced beer in the US. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
“and leave this “complicated” tech stuff the the professionals”
Oh yeh. So good at tech. Yes, on the one hand, Apple — but on the other, the US is equally responsible for Winblows. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
@Pud
You expose your ignorance. Popular U.S. beer brands include rice and corn in their recipes. Molson is a pretty darn good beer and it is from Canada.
Barley malt, hops, yeast, and water are the accepted and acceptable ingredients in beer. There are a few notable exceptions, such as seasonal wheat beers and other specialty brews, such as Oktoberfest.
Quit dissing the Canadians. They have put up with our arrogant American crap fairly patiently for quite a long time. It is actually quite a nice country with very friendly people.
@Beer Fighters,
The top selling American beers are rice/corn piss from corporate bladders. However, American has a ton of microbrews that are incredibly good. Microbrews have been achieving success and getting national traction for quite some time but have really exploded in the past 10 years.
Ironically, during this same time, the typical Bud, Bud Dry, Bud Select, Bud Ice, Bud Reserve, Bud Bud… piss has been spreading globally, with many international brands copying the same rice/corn piss style.
In short, don’t judge us on our ignorant masses, or blame us for what you choose to import. Your ignorant masses are just as ignorant, and they’re making the same piss poor choices.
I like carlsburg…
(just wanted in on the argument)
Mmmmmmm … beer
Mmm. Blackberry Beer.
“Blackberry service goes down across North America”
