Qantas’ JetStar to offer inflight iPads

Apple Online Store“Qantas Airways Ltd.’s plans to offer Apple Inc.’s iPad media tablet to passengers on its Jetstar flights as it competes for a growing share of the competitive market for low-cost travel in Australia and Asia, a company official told Dow Jones Newswires,” Ross Kelly reports for MarketWatch.

“The iPad, which analysts expect to have sold 4.7 million units during the September quarter, will be made available to passengers on domestic and long-haul Jetstar flights after the device was successfully trialled, the spokesman added,” Kelly reports. “In flight entertainment could provide a new revenue stream for Apple and rival media tablet makers such as Samsung Group, which recently launched it Galaxy Tab hand-held unit to compete with the iPad and Research In Motion Ltd.’s new Playbook.”

These are kinds of “simple” applications of the iPad that all the naysayers have ignored when they protest that the iPad is too “closed.” They are also forgetting: home theater, auto entertainment, home security, medical, warehouse/inventory management, POS, schools, restaurants, mobile presentations/sales, e-book replacement, mobile gaming, kiosks, just to name a few.

    Airplay alone is already creating a multibillion dollar business in the home theater market.

    A new sprint event could provide a new stream of world records times for Usain Bolt and rival sprinters such as Sammy Sung, a 18 months’ old boy, who just managed to walk steadily, and the fetus Erchinmotion, who is expect to born next year. Don’t forget our old friend Micro Shaft, who broke a 100m sprint school record when he was 10 years old, he can still runs 100m in 20 seconds 10 years after he broke his record. After seeing Bolt broke the world record with 9.58 seconds, he goes home and works hard with his wife, trying to produce the future best sprinter with his sprinter genes……
