“A few months ago we told you that Apple were hoping to release a new version of their Final Cut Studio suite in 2010,” Lionel reports for HardMac.
“It now seems likely that this target has been missed according to one of our source,” Lionel reports. “The development of this software suite has suffered significant setbacks and it will be necessary to wait until 2011 to see its release; furthermore, the scope of the project has been reduced.”
Lionel reports, “The idea of having a unified interface has been abandoned for the time being because of difficulties in reaching a satisfactory compromise among not only the various applications but above all between different development teams, those working on Shake and those working on Motion.”

Shake was discontinued in July of 09. A number of it’s features were folded into Motion (like the great smoothcam).
So the rumor suggests that disputes over the UI of a current program and one which has been discontinued for 16 months are delaying the upgrade. Call me skeptical, time for a new source

Dear Apple:
Please deliver 1080p/60 support ASAP. Other competing PC Apps support this new imaging standard for cameras offered by Panasonic as an extension of the AVCHD standard.

Well I hope it comes sooner, but can understand if it is delayed. From what I’ve read we can’t expect it until 10.7 anyways – but I can’t wait for full 64bit/Multi-Threaded support and some *real* 3D capabilities in Motion not to mention whatever Shake replacement they have in store.

Why bother if the Mac is going to switched over to a bunch of App Store controlled iPads anyway?
The MacBook line is nearly discontinued, nothing for future children to use except iPads.
Get Windows or Ubuntu and get used to it.

@M2pro
Not only was Shake discontinued from being sold in July of 2009, Apple had officially issued a press release saying they had halted further development beyond Shake 4.1 on June 22nd of 2006. 4.1 continued to be sold until July 2009, but not developed. So, it is more like the rumor suggests a team that hasn’t been active for 52 months disputed the UI.

@Bizzarro
I notice that your posts seem sadly lacking any connection to reality, regardless of the topic. In this case, the fact that Apple sold more Macs – most of them MacBooks – in the last quarter (and will doubtless break that record in the current quarter) would strongly suggest that you are completely clueless when you assert that “the MacBook line is nearly discontinued.” You might want to get out of your mom’s basement more often.

Bizzarro seems to think he can displace Zune Tang as the resident propagandist troll. Note to Bizazarro: ZT is a satirist (a& not really a windoze geek) and most times is dead on funny. You are merely an unfunny troll through whom everyone sees. Face facts. Your empire is in its’ final death throes.
On another note… It’s not so hard to believe that infighting may be going on regarding the UI. Apple may be becoming seriously stretched and fragmented programmer wise as they become ever larger. There’s only so many hours in the day and only so many (good) coders on the payroll. I, for one would prefer they take their time (within reason) & turn out a more polished & comprehensive product. Though I would think they can’t afford to cede the HD market to Premier (blechhh!) as they did the Blu ray market I certainly need real time 1080p and soon.

But again, it might debut before 2011. You dumb idiot.

I took a pass on the last FCS upgrade and will take the next. With tighter integration with Snow Leopard, we could see quite a pop in rendering times.

What’s the latest poop on Final Cut Extreme? Or has that been buried?

Wow, who is this oracle who, when there is 3 months left of the year he says, it might take until next year…
L A M E…
Seems the only thing to comment on here is Bizarro, or actually the fact that he is not much to comment on either.
Biz, please do the decent thing and go somewhere where your presence is desired… Ah, well, just go somewhere else.

Don’t get me wrong, I am no apple hater. I would love to use an iPad, but before it needs a second core and keyboard shortcuts. I have bought a netbook instead that runs ubuntu, and that works great.
