Apple looks to up iPad production to 3 million units per month ASAP

“Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty says Apple recently doubled its monthly iPad builds to 2 million,” John Paczkowski reports for AllThingsD.

Paczkowski reports, “Says Huberty, ‘Apple recently indicated to its suppliers a desire to move to 3 million per month in C4Q10. This implies a run rate of 36 million in CY11, close to the current 40 million supply chain forecast.’

No way they release a new iPad while this frenzy builds. Towards the end of the first quarter next year..maybe…June more likely.

Just wait till they enable apps on Apple TV…

Apple is still firing on all cylinders…and running wide open.

Has anyone asked Steve Ballmer if Apple has made another mistake because the iPad has no keyboard buttons or a stylus pen? (If he brings up the pen, tell him that he can use sausage sticks as a stylus pen. That worked on the iPhones in Korea in the winter time. It should work on the iPad too.)

It seems to me that with printing and a keyboard, the iPad now offers corporates a very secure environment for general office use – replacing those very insecure windows-based notebooks. When MS releases Office for the iPad (I know, iWork can save files in Office format, but still…), expect sales to soar… Because, unless the iPad is jailbroken, no unauthorised (by Apple that is) content can run on the iPad. Perhaps this is why Apple is interested in tracking and isolating jail-broken devices? It would allow a corporate IT manager to turn a rogue iPad off, or disable a corporate connection…

The battle is already almost over for the slate market and Apple is going to dominate it just like the dominated the mp3 player market.

Think about it: With mp3 players, you had lots of big names–Sony, MS, Creative, etc.–all offering products which everyone hated and simply weren’t buying in any large numbers. Apple offers a drop-dead simple product and wipes them out in spite of the fact that it was so “closed” and had almost no ecosystem. And that all started before Apple even had the iTunes store. The closest thing to a strategic third party, was the record companies. they were stuck in the past like the telcos.

But with the iPad, the entire ecosystem of media, retail outlets, apps, e-books and peripherals is already in place. And the telcos? Well, they are completely optional to the iPad.

The iPad has almost no strategic dependencies to worry about. Not MS, not Adobe, not the telcos, not the record companies and certainly not the doofus support from clueless retailers like Sears or Circuit City. This thing is ready to go into orbit while all the other slates or still trying to rub two sticks together to make fire.
