I’d move iPad sales update to “likely”, to remind those developers of the millions of potential customers in search of QUALITY (meaning non-Flash ported) applications.
He may be right on the Verizon info; it would fit better in its own special event a few months down the line.
I’d put 10.7 preview in “unlikely” though, since focus of this WWDC is on mobile apps. This DOES NOT MEAN that the Mac is going bye-bye, so the trolls can log off MDN now and go find some good porn or something.
Hopefully the announcement that AAPL just passed MS. As of 10:47AM, we’ve only got a measly 3.6 billion to go!
With the non-inclusion of OSX category in the Design Awards and the shifting priorities of Apple, I’m doubtful that we’ll be seeing a preview of 10.7; would be nice, though.

What Apple needs is a new line of monitors.
• THE BILLION DOLLAR SERVER FARM IS ONLINE AND WILL BE USED FOR …
• Finished the home entertainment hub that Steve Jobs talked about several years ago to counter the new GoogleTV push!
• iSights and iChat for everyone (iPhones, iPads, iPod touchs, … even those Windows PC boxes can now use iChat!)
All I care about right now is an updated iMac line-up. I need a new computer and a quad-care iMac works great for me, but I’m not about to purchase one with the current line-up already 8 months into it’s product cycle.

It’s not that the new iPhone photos have been revealed, iPhone OS 4 leaks, other than what Steve talked about, like the video chat that hasn’t been discussed, the iPad… success or failure, yeah right, etc. are items we have all been privy to.
It’s that those items haven’t been delivered and discussed to us by Steve himself that I’m more interested in because it ain’t been said if hasn’t been said the Steve way!

I agree with you only the timing is wrong. Your suggested stuff will better fit in the “iPod Special event” in September.

With all the intentional leaks, denials, whirlwind PR generation, there MUST be more otherwise the whole WWDC event will be declared a failure.

Yes, there WILL be something big. But, you can forget about anything to do with computers. Apple is a mobile device company now and Mac OS upgrades – probably less than we are used to seeing – will come later and probably be the last.
Please stop asking for iChat to be used on Windows PCs.

Hmm, you don’t need really “big” surprises when you ramped up iPad production to 2.5 million per month in less than 3 months.
You don’t really need big surprises when the next gen iPhone and iPod touch with OS 4.0 is going to blow everything else out of the water and there will be 100 million iDevices in the wild by 2011.
You don’t really need big surprises when you have 100k developers, 200K apps, 100 million credit card numbers and you’re making $600 off of every iPhone before sales of apps, iAds, peripherals, e-books, music, movies and TV shows kick in.
It’s like a great football team with massive front line and a franchise running back. Everyone in the stadium knows the 225 lbs. running back back is following the 275 lbs fullback behind the 350 lb. left tackle but they still score a touchdown.
At this point, the fact that Apple’s competitors saw the next generation iPhone already doesn’t really help them one bit. They are still going to be bulldozed.

My inside source says: NO Mac OS X 10.7 preview at WWDC 2010.
It is unknown when Apple will get around to 10.7. Their coding priority ATM is iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad OS.

Yeah, right. So iPhone 4.0, iPad 1.0 + 2.0, OS X 10.7, the server farm’s contribution, and the like won’t add another dollar to the AAPL price. Hmmm. I want some of what YOU are smokin’.
Can you do THIS math? 10,000,000 iPads in its first year X (times) an average $200+ in profits EACH? How about a zillion more iPhones in China (witness the 10,000,000 CDMA order from Pegatron), not to mention Verizon coming on board NEXT YEAR, almost certainly.
Prognostication is difficult, especially when it’s about the future. But I’ll bet you a month’s pay that (barring a worldwide financial meltdown) AAPL will be $300 by the end of this year. Actually, I have already made that bet, for I have 5700 shares in my portfolio, average purchase price $12.42.

A Digital Cinema 4K monitor but in 16:9 aspect ratio, i.e., 4096×2304, in the 30 to 35 inch range. And as long as I’m dreaming… a video card that can run two of them concurrently.
Apple really does need a new line of monitors. The 30″ display has not had a significant change since it was introduced many years ago.
