‘King of All Media’ Howard Stern gets Apple iPad from Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore

The self-proclaimed “King of All Media,” Howard Stern recently received a new 64GB iPad Wi-fi + 3G as a gift from Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Stern spoke about his new device on his SIRIUS XM show on Wednesday.

Stern said, “It’s very cool but i don’t know how to use it.” Regular listeners will know that Howard seems to always feign struggles with new technology, but he did call the iPad “the future.”

Stern sounds like he needs to spend a little bit more time with his new iPad and begin to undo the ill-habits and user interface assumptions from his years of suffering with Microsoft’s shiteous Windows. Stern’s dependence upon Lotus Notes has kept him from a better life with an iPhone in the past. But, accessibility to Lotus Notes has always been possible through their “webmail-like” portal (using Apple’s Mobile Safari browser) and, of course, there’s now a fully-functional Lotus Notes client app for iPhone/iPad.

Most of Stern’s troubles seem to stem from his particular Wi-Fi setup (“heavy security that I don’t need,” said Stern) and his general impatience with new tech. Once it was set up, Stern proclaimed his iPad to be “pretty cool.” Stern’s sidekick Robin Quivers said she saw one recently and agreed that “it was pretty cool.”

Stern mentioned that The New York Times is delivered to my iPad every morning and explained how he took snapshots of his screen while watching his wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern‎, on Jimmy Kimmel Live via his iPad’s ABC Player app.

If he’s already snapping shots of his screen to email to his wife, we expect that Stern is well on his way to becoming like the rest of us iPad users: Addicted to iPad.

  1. Why do really rich people send things to other really rich people that they could otherwise send an intern to the store to pick up ,oh perhaps a whole crate of?

  2. @LA

why are you asking us? You took time to read and comment about those you give a rat’s ass about.
    /tangent>

it’s nice to know there those can still afford to gift iPads.

  3. > Quite possibly the three people I have the least use for all together in one article.

    > Three people I could not give a rat’s ass about.

Well, I guess it saves spoiling three articles

  4. @ ChrissyOne

You’re being ambiguous. I still can’t tell if you’re for or against Mr. Stern or his receipt of said iPad.

Howard Stern definitely has a face for radio.

  5. Stern gets an iPad as a gift… So???

Instead of gifting iPads, shouldn’t Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher be on a college campus somewhere protesting the unjust, undeclared war in Pakistan that has heated up immensely during the Obama Administration? Obama may not care for “Drill, Baby Drill!” but he is definitely a fan of “Drone, Baby Drone!” as the left would describe it as unseen and unheard unleashed terror from the sky with hell fire that kills the innocent on the ground!

Are Moore and Kutcher typical of your Hollywood left douchebags that are only offended by certain war from certain presidential administrations? (that was a hypothetical question… we already know the answer.) I guess to them there IS such a thing as a good and necessary war, which one would have thought would have gone against their beliefs. However, when it is being waged by their guy, I guess not! This is typical of the left continuing disillusioned warped view of the world!! What morons!!! – C2

  6. @ Now, Now

Congratulations on being the first to turn an article about Stern into a political diatribe! Well done.

Brilliant! What an idea! And I was there! Now, Now took the idea! He saw it ripe on the tree, he plucked it, and he put it in his pocket. It’s, it’s, dare I say… genius? Ah, no, no! But maybe, ooh! ah! maybe it is! Maybe I’m in the presence of greatness, maybe I just don’t know it. But I saw it…

  7. @Hm…: The sad thing about Now, Now is that he can’t hold his own on political sites, so he vents his pre-cortical synapses here, where most people just want to talk Apple-related tech and can’t be bothered to take him down.
