   Funny, on my Mac mini 10.6.3 I don’t get any download options on that page or with AU 5.5.1 when selecting update? Might not be in all their servers yet? I’m in Canada.

   I am currently on firmware 7.4.2 and have 5.5.1 Airport Utility, and when I check for updates it tells me there is no updates at tis time. Hmmmm……

   Apple has been very busy with updates this week. Most of the others have been to support the iPad. Could it be that iPad will back up wirelessly to Time Capsule?

    The firmware update for the base stations only comes up when you run AirPort Utility, not Software Update. Also, it does not seem to apply for earlier (before “Late 2009) AirPort Extreme base stations. My older model did not show any firmware updates available, which has version 7.4.2.

    7.5.1 downloaded and started the install, then it came up with and error and said it could not finish the install. And now when I check for the update again it said i have the latest version but I do not. Then I tried to download and install the update my shelf but could not find a place to get the download at Apple.

    Note: This firmware update is for late 2009 AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule only..

    If your device doesn’t automatically detect there is an update then DON’T update it manually. It isn’t for your device.
