NBC’s The Marriage Ref uses Apple iPad for ‘fact checking’ (with image)

In the latest episode of NBC’s new TV show “The Marriage Ref” hosted by comedian Tom Papa and featuring panelists Larry David, Madonna, and Ricky Gervais, the celebrity fact checker du jour was Maria Menounos.

The wife and I both saw the iPad in an instant. But a Magic mouse with iPad? What the? BTW that show was awful, even with Larry David on it. Just awful.

So you don’t need to pay for the iPad physical keyboard, you can use the Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard? COOL!

What did they do to that iPad, glue it to some acrylic cylinder? Yuck! Seems like something one would expect from NBC.

a) Apple wouldn’t let them have one. (And if they did, they would make a thing of it.)

b) The long edge of that device has nothing on it—no volume control. So it’s the right side, and the bottom edge is what we see to the left. So where’s the dock connector and speaker? It looks too thin to be wearing a case.

c) A mouse??

It’s some other kind of computer display, or simply a clipboard (the real screen could be anywhere, like behind the camera). My call: the screen is projected onto that slab from above.

I should say headphone jack—THAT is what should be visible (at least a dark spot) on the top (not bottom—my bad) edge seen at the left of the image.

nope… too big to be an iPad. Look at magic mouse and her hand in comparison to size of screen. It is too big in relation to be the ipad.

also, see rounded edges compared with ipad flat edges.

also, it is thinner than ipad.

also, when is the last time apple has given anyone a product for actual use (not promotion: Stephen Colbert) try… never!

Okay, looking at the keyboard, I don’t think that’s an Apple keyboard, too thick. And, the tablet-like device does not appear to have the right contour or edge to be the iPad. There’s a little more taper about one-inch from the edge.

And, where is the dock connector and speaker holes, or the power button if that’s the other side. You should see something on the side, but you don’t.

this is the second time i have seen a post about this show having an ipad. the first time i dismissed it as luncay. Now i feel compelled to respond

there is not a single detail on there that identifies it as an ipad
- there is no curvature to the back, which the ipad clearly has
- the edge is rounded all the way around from the back face to the front screen face. the ipad squares off for what looks like 1/4 inch before touching the glass.
-as mentioned , there is not a single button or port anywhere on the whole thing.
- its using a MOUSE people, please rationalize that one. if they were actually poking at it, their might be basis for some speculation, but this proves its all for naught
