“Richard Belzer from ‘Law and Order’ claims he never choked the Apple employee who called 911 on him yesterday — and dude says there’s surveillance footage that proves him right,” TMZ reports.
“Belzer tells TMZ the drama all started while he was waiting in line at the Apple store in Manhattan. He says a female employee approached him and asked him if he needed help … so he placed his hands on her shoulders and said he would love some help,” TMZ reports. “That’s when Belzer says she freaked out, called the cops … and told them he had choked her.”
TMZ reports, “Belzer says cops showed up and took a look at the store’s surveillance tape … and decided the woman’s claims were unfounded.”

Kerry Burke, Rocco Parascandola, and John Lauinger report for The New York Daily News, “Milan Agnew, 21, of Manhattan, claimed Belzer, 65, entered the upper West Side store yesterday, grabbed her by the shoulders, shook her, choked her and barked, ‘I need help!’”
“Agnew, an aspiring dancer and recent Marymount Manhattan College grad, called 911 and later filed a complaint with the NYPD, which alleged only harassment, a minor violation,” Burke, Parascandola, and Lauinger report. “Belzer, who plays Sgt. John Munch on the TV show, was questioned by cops and was not charged with a crime. He told officers he was ‘just joking,’ the sources said.”

MacDailyNews Take: Possibilities:
a) Richard Belzer attempted to choke an Apple Store employee in public while waiting on line in a retail store
b) A young woman working in New York City had no idea who Richard Belzer was when she misinterpreted his intended joke and overreacted
Any other ideas?
