Read vows from iPhone.’ So tweeted my friend Raygan Sunday night,” Margaret Lyons reports for Entertainment Weekly. “Apple wedding? On Valentine’s Day? Indeed: The happy couple is Josh and Ting Li, who confirm to EW that this was their real wedding.”

<shrugs> No worse than the folks who get married on the pitcher’s mound, and safer than getting married while sky-diving or bungee-jumping. (The Steve Jobs lookalike is a bit creepy though.)

Hint to the happy couple: multiple Macs makes for happy marriage.

I will not join in killing flash. Sj has boxed himself in a corner. Ipad is not an iphone. He wants to control it because flash is a threat to the apps store. Soon he will remove it from macs. And his closed systems mentality will ruin apple. Ipad is not a phone. Hope he is smart and put his ego aside for the sake of ipad baby and apple at large.

@Wyatt: Paranoid much? How would Apple go about “removing Flash” from Macs, seeing as how anyone can install the Adobe plug-in? It drives me nuts that people see a system where Apple can create it’s own software to operate its browser, instead of being at the mercy of Adobe, as a “closed system”. Flash is proprietary — it belongs to Adobe. Apple is pushing for open standards they can implement themselves. Flash = “closed”. Open standards = “open”. Got it?

Apple should fix Safari on the Mac so it doesn’t crash with Flash. I have applications that only work with Firefox and Chrome but not Safari.

You can argue Flash sucks or whatever. But let the market decide or offer a porting utility and developer tools. Flash is used for hundreds of thousands of serious applications.

Anyway, I dont buy it that Flash sucks. But it is a threat to the App store. Java as well. I understand technically why the iPhone can’t handle Flash. But the iPad? It has a 1GHz processor. It can handle anything.

SJ has boxed himself in and will hurt the iPad. He is fighting with Google and now with Adobe. Way to go Steve. Screw up the momentum.

OT: How did Flash get into this thread?!

The solution to Flash is easy: Get any of the free plug-ins that kill it. Then when you want to load a Flash file you just click on it on a web page. Works perfectly. Stops Flash from devouring your CPU.
