From a beta tester:
• Apple tablet is OLED + back has solar pad for recharging, but (the charger) really doesn’t work quickly. More a gimmick.
• Verizon+att, wifi yes!
• Apple Tablet has thumbpads on each side for mouse gestures, reads fingerprint for security. Up to 5 profiles by fingerprint for family.
• Yes, there are 2 cameras: one in front and one in back (or it may be one with some double lens) so you record yourself and in front of you.
• The price will be $599, $699 and $799 depending on size and memory in apple tablet. Also, wireless keyboard + monitor connection for TV.

There will definitely be some new hybrid power/charging technology implemented in the tablet that assigns some tasks to photocell generated power from imbedded elements in the casing or screen borders of the tablet. These may provide power for certain less power hungry tasks, partial topping of battery charge, or LCD power.

Apple will probably introduce the first ever hybrid powered computer ever amongst the many other fist and revolutionary features and capabilities of the tablet.

I think the proximity sensor is going to be integral….

Think about how your dock appears when it is on autohide with the magnification turned on…hover your cursor over the dock, it appears and then magnifies which icon you are hovering over…then click and go…

With proximity sensing hover your finger over the dock, it appears, magnifies where you are about to click, then make contact with the screen to click…the possibilities are endless…

This is just one application for the proximity sensing, but I have a feeling this is how it will work…

A privatel;y owned firm named Konarka has developed what they call “ink” that does not use silicon to produce solar power. It can be applied embedded in materials such as roofing tiles, paint and clothing. It is very efficient and has been successfully tested by the US Army as a coating on tents in Iraq.

It would not surprise me to learn that Apple has developed a way to incorporate Konarka’s technology into its products.
