“In the wake of the scandal, the app’s ‘customer reviews’ section has attracted several comments that allude to Woods’ woes. Most attempt humorous commentary, such as, ‘This update is more stable than [Woods'] personal life is.’ Another user made a reference to the ‘Tiger Woods unlockable pimp hat’ as a ‘nice [game] bonus,’” Woyke reports.
“The iPhone game allows users to play as or against Woods on famous golf courses such as Pebble Beach; the game comes complete with 3-D graphics and play-by-play commentary,” Woyke reports. “EA, which also produces versions of the game for game consoles… is–like Woods’ other business partners–standing by the athlete. ‘Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged…we respect Tiger’s privacy…and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course,’ the company said in a statement.”
