Good Technology today announced that its Good for Enterprise app is now available from Apple’s iTunes App Store. With the Good for Enterprise app, Good is providing enterprise-class email and secure access to behind-the-firewall applications and data for Apple’s revolutionary iPhone.

Businesses of all sizes are seeing rapidly growing demand for the ability to access corporate networks via the iPhone. An independent survey of 500 IT departments in the United States and United Kingdom, commissioned by Good Technology, found that nearly 80 percent of companies reported an increased demand from employees wanting to bring their own devices into the workplace. The hottest requested device, as noted by a staggering 82 percent of respondents in the U.S. and U.K., was Apple’s revolutionary iPhone.

“The iPhone is far and away the most requested device for accessing corporate networks,” said John Herrema, chief marketing officer at Good Technology, in the press release. “With today’s announcement, both new customers and the more than 4,000 enterprises that have already deployed Good for Enterprise will now be able to offer their iPhone users the award-winning Good user experience in combination with the enterprise-grade IT management, security, and control that they have come to expect from Good.”

The Good for Enterprise app offers enterprise-class email and secure access to behind-the-firewall applications and data. The app provides the highest levels of security and management including remote wipe capabilities, on-device data encryption, and the ability to manage all devices from a single, web-based management console. These features not only alleviate the burden on the IT manager, they also provide more control and security, in case the iPhone device is lost or stolen.

The user experience is customized to be as intuitive and familiar as the desktop, minimizing IT intervention thereby reducing support costs. The app prioritizes tasks most important to the business user, such as composing email or viewing rich attachments while making them easily and seamlessly accessible. Good provides secure email, calendar and contacts through a single application, so users can easily multi-task just as they would on a desktop.

The Good for Enterprise App is available for free from Apple’s iTunes App Store here.

Use of Good for Enterprise app requires a Good for Enterprise server and client access license (CAL). Customers should contact their IT administrator for a username and password. The Good for Enterprise application will not operate without the necessary back-end software.
