In a new ad now running on such websites as The New York Times and Wired, Apple shows security cameras outside an Apple Store which reveal “PC Switchers” choosing to make the ultimate upgrade to superior Macs instead of Windows 7ista.
“PC” takes matters into his own hands. At the end of the ad, Apple’s text states:
Make the ultimate upgrade. To Mac.
If you’re going to upgrade, why not really upgrade: to the computer with award winning iLife software, helpful Mac Geniuses, and a #1 rating in customer satisfaction.

THIS one I really like…It makes online advertising funny, pointed and engaging…well done
I really like those dual interactive banner ads Apple does. They are really fun and I haven’t seen anyone else pull it off quite as well.
The fact that I would say that I like an ADVERTISEMENT means that the the ad is very good
“Never ask a man what computer he uses. If it’s a Mac, he’ll tell you. If it’s not, why embarrass him?” ~Tom Clancy
I’d be curious to know what percentage of NYT and Wired readers turn the sound on. Of course the ad is almost equally effective with the sound off. Great design.
Would have been nicer without the severe lag.
Is that a real quote from Clancy?
i was at my local town hall today and they had a big shiny display running windows xp , trying SO hard to impress everyone
it crashed and we got a lovely big bsod
that made my day
😀
I googled the quote and found that apparently Clancy uses that as his signature on emails.
That’s a real quote from Tom Clancy!
I got no lag and I’m on an iPhone over wifi.
Love that Tom Clancy quote, have added it to my Mail sigs
@Beowulf – a reference would be great!
OK, what appears to be the most reliable source on the Tom Clancy quote:

I believe this is a take-off from the line, “Never ask a man if he’s from Texas. If he is, he’ll tell you. If he isn’t, don’t embarrass him.” Citations I found in a quick search go back to at least 1945, although sometimes it reads, “There’s no need to ask a man what state’s he’s from. If he’s from Texas, he’ll tell you himself; if he’s not, why embarrass him?”
(Begin anti-Texas/Texans flames.)
Another one of those pathethic misleading advertisements from CRAPple about their bogus products with their FUD messages. When will they learn……. Windows is KING and they are puppets to Microsoft.
http://www.bing.com When it comes to decisions that matter, Bing & Decide
Bing. MS names its search engine after a (well-loved) actor/singer from pre-Baby Boom times. What demographic are they shooting for here?
Is “I’m a PC” really a lame, Microsft copy of Zune Tang, not quite getting the wit or humor right?”
I never tire of these ads.
