All of these updated iPods will help Apple retain its 75 percent share of the portable music and video market, and they will be big sellers this holiday season,” Tim Bajarin writes for PC Magazine.

“But one of these new products is disruptive enough to completely change the way families integrate video capture into their lives—it might even make video more important to families than still images,” Bajarin writes.

“Apple’s decision to integrate a video camera into the iPod nano is going to take spontaneous video capture to new levels,” Bajarin writes. “[And] at a moment’s notices, you can whip it out and capture high-quality video and audio. And, using Apple’s top-notch iVideo [sic; he likely means "iMovie"] software, you can create all types of personal video that adds sparkle and pizzazz to many types of family experiences.”

Bajarin writes, “Over the years, I have seen a lot of changes when it comes to portable video recorders, and every generation gets smaller, lighter, and better. But the nano breaks new ground and, given its aggressive price, it just might become the No. 1 digital video camera for the modern family.”
