Apple debuts new ad for 5G iPod nano: ‘Capture Us’ (with video)

Apple has debuted a new ad for their 5G iPod nano which the company introduced yesterday. The ad began airing on U.S. broadcast and cable television networks last evening and showcases iPod nano’s newfound ability to shoot video.

Great commercial and I love the song too. Anyone know what it is?

Why isn’t there a widespread dissatisfaction that if Apple added video to the Nano, it should have increased the storage to 16GB or above? Video takes up storage. If we have lots of songs, the added video is going to eat up memory storage.

The radio on the Nano can freeze frame radio, and resume it (saving up to 15 minutes) and fast-forward back to live broadcast. That plus it can ‘tag’ music when you hear a song you like it will mark it when you plug back into iTunes and you can purchase the songs you tagged. That is pretty sweet.

I’m fairly certain no other device with a radio has those 2 features.

Imagine the trouble all the concert bouncers are going to have frisking people for Nanos — I predict an onslaught of bootleg concert videos descending on Youtube.

(Actually I’m going to be getting one myself.)

Oh, and as for the storage, Apple probably figures people will be syncing to their computers and putting the videos on there for sending to friends and Youtube posting, but I’ll pick up the 16GB just in case…if it does prove popular we might see a 32GB version next year.
