“I’m expecting some really good news in terms of outlook for [Microsoft],” Rob Enderle told CNBC TV yesterday.
JeeYeon Park reports for CNBC, “Enderle said Microsoft has been executing well in the last several months.”
“‘They brought out a solid advertising campaign,’ he said,” Park reports. “‘Microsoft has always been under-marketing and now they’re marketing well.’”
A few hours later, Microsoft reported its first fiscal year with a sales decline since 1986 as net income for the fiscal fourth quarter, which ended in June, dropped 17 percent and revenue plummeted 29%. The company once again declined to offer guidance, citing the economic downturn which, for some reason, Apple doesn’t use as an excuse as they rack up record quarter after record quarter.
MacDailyNews Take: Note to reporters: This simply one more example proving that the next time you’re looking for some solid analysis, Rob Enderle is just about the last person you should ask.
