Apple today launched their 2009 “Back to School” promo: “Buy a Mac for college, get a free iPod touch.”

If you’re a college student or a faculty or staff member at any grade level and you buy a new Mac before September 8, you can get a free iPod touch. No wonder they call these the best years of your life.

How to get your Mac and free iPod touch:
1. Shop for a Mac. Shop the Apple Online Store for Education. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE. Or find your favorite Apple Retail Store or your local Apple Authorized Campus Store.
2. Buy an iPod touch. Purchase your Mac and iPod touch at the same time to qualify for your online rebate.
3. Submit your rebate. After you receive your Mac and iPod, submit your claim online by October 8, 2009. Once your claim has been submitted, check your rebate status at any time.

The following individuals are eligible to purchase a Mac using the Apple education discount and get a free iPod touch after rebate. Offer ends September 8, 2009.

• K-12: Any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.
• Higher Education: Faculty and staff of Higher Education institutions; and students attending, or accepted into a Higher Education institution are eligible to purchase. Purchases from the Apple Store for Education Individuals are not for institutional purchase or resale.
• Higher Education Parents: Parents purchasing on behalf of their child, who is a student currently attending or accepted into a public or private Higher Education Institution in the United States, are eligible to purchase.

The following Apple Computers qualify for this promotion: iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro. Configure-to-order versions of these Apple Mac computers qualify for this offer. Refurbished Apple Mac computers do not qualify. Mac mini does not qualify. The following iPod models qualify for this promotion: iPod touch ($229), iPod classic 120GB ($229), iPod nano 16GB ($199), iPod nano 8GB ($149), and iPod shuffle 4GB ($79).
