Wi-Gear is helping Apple iPhone users cut the cord with iMuffs, wireless headphones that are now optimized for iPhone use. iMuffs utilize the Bluetooth 2.0 with Stereo (A2DP), AVRCP, Handsfree (HFP), and Headset (HSP) protocol. iMuffs employ the Sub-Band Codec (SBC) with bit rate of 328 kb/s. iMuffs’ built-in rechargeable 550mAh lithium polymer battery life is rated at up to 20 hours of continuous music depending on usage pattern, distance from transmitter and battery age. iMuffs adapter for iPhone/iPod requires no battery, but is dependant on iPod’s battery capacity.
According to Wi-Gear, “iMuffs deliver crystal-clear sound up to 40 feet away from the iPhone with no wires to get tangled and no need to interact directly with the music player.”
Ergonomically designed iMuffs let you pause, rewind, adjust volume and change tracks right from the headset without touching the iPhone, thanks to easy-to-use and easy-to-reach controls. You can also answer incoming calls directly from the headphone using the integrated noise-cancelling microphone, enjoying the same automatic music suspension that you get on your iPhone when a call comes in.
Designed to be worn behind the neck, iMuffs weigh just 2.2 ounces and charged using any computer’s USB port or through an included travel charger.
iMuffs work with the newest iPhone models as well as Apple iPod devices including the iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod touch.
iMuffs MB220 wireless headphones for iPhone will be generally available in late November 2008 directly from Wi-Gear at for US$149.99.
