$999.99 app for Apple iPhone, iPod touch allows owners to proclaim ‘I Am Rich’

Armin Heinrich’s newly-released “I am Rich” application for Apple’s iPhone and/or iPod touch displays an elegant pentagon-shaped icon that will remind you and anyone else who sees it that you are rich enough to afford the US$999.99 app.

MacDailyNews Note: Heinrich also developed the more modestly-priced ($4.99) Calc Pro app for Apple iPhone and iPod touch.

When the “I am Rich” application is run, your iPhone’s and/or iPod touch’s display will cycle through various background images and colors with the “I am Rich” pentagon icon providing a luxurious, unifying presence throughout.

“I am Rich” (0.1MB) is available via Apple’s App Store here.

Do not settle for cheap imitations.

“I Am Rich” is a must-have trifle for the (£89,000, US$174,204) diamond and white gold iPhone owner:

“I have 100 billion dollars… You realize I could spend 3 million dollars a day, every day, for the next 100 years? And that’s if I don’t make another dime. Tell you what – I’ll buy your right arm for a million dollars. I give you a million bucks, and I get to sever your arm right here.” – Bill Gates

  1. They gotta take that off the store.

If there was any security compromise, the first app they’ll make us buy is this stupid app. Or if we accidentally bought that app… imagine how many weeks we’d be without that cash for that simple slip-up…

  2. I’d get one, but I can’t afford the iPhone plans. I’m just waiting for the heat to come off the 3G so I can get one unlocked and show the diamond! I just don’t want to pay for data unless I’m going to use at least 2/3rds of it.

  3. On another Mac site, I read that this app was inspired by complaints that Apple was being too ‘draconian’ with allowing apps on the store.

The point is, do you really want Apple to individually vet every single app? Why not let the market sort out the crap from the gold? Apple’s only remit is to prevent apps that interfere/break the iPhone’s internal/network operation.

To even begin putting apps on the store, you need $99 and a reasonable knowledge of XCode.

I think the ‘I Am Rich’ app is utterly hilarious, but it’s not like there’s a guy with a gun to my head demanding I buy it. Simply deduce whether you want the app or not, and move on. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
