CNBC this morning covered reaction to Apple’s earnings and outlook with Richard Prati, American Technology Research CEO, and CNBC’s Jim Goldman.

In the video segment, CNBC’s Mark Haines provides a very interesting exchange with Prati:

Haines: Windows Vista hand them a big opportunity?
Prati: I’m sorry?

Haines: I say, did Windows Vista hand Apple an opportunity?
Prati: Yeah, I think, um, without a doubt Apple has a better interface, a better platform and while…

Haines (interrupts): Yeah, but that’s always been true. I’m wondering from a consumer’s standpoint. And, you know, I’m speaking for myself. When Windows.. I was never happy with XP and when they came out with Vista, the first reviews… didn’t look like it was for me… and I said, you know what, I’m done with this, I’m buying an Apple. I’ve been happy ever since. And I’m wondering whether if that Vista intro in an odd upside-down way, opened the door for Apple.
Prati: I think it does in many ways…
