  1. 3g iPhone in Japan, Australia, Canada, and then China, in that order. Then the ball will start rolling and never stop until Apple themselves screw it up…and I don’t think they will mess it up in Steve Jobs lifetime.

  2. “Connect to the Internet anywhere there’s a Wi-Fi network. Send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hot spots in your area. iPod touch finds wireless networks and connects you to the Internet.”

It’s free where Wi-Fi is free. It’s not where it’s not.

  3. Two more hardware upgrades, 4 more software updates, affordable nationwide hotspot, and 1 more price drop and Blackberry will be a history thing of the past, even with whatever they can come up with in that same period of time. Apple has just way too many ducks in a row longterm.

  4. @MacLovin
Lad`s post hits it dead on. I use my Touch anywhere I can get “free” wifi, brilliant device, It`s my Unix PDA (hacked to high heaven) an iPhone would be great to use when I have no wifi present. Also I`d like to lessen the load and get some pockets back.

  5. “Blackberry will be a history thing of the past”

I don’t doubt that Apple can sell 10 million iphones by the end of the year, but things don’t always work out as planned (most of the world using windows is proof of this). Apple needs to get into Asian markets.

  6. iPhone vs Blackberry will not be Tiger/Leopard vs Vista.

The Blackberry actually works and has it’s own adoring user base Crackberry addicts.

There is room for two winners in a plus billion unit per year market. Don’t be stupid.

  7. Well if our Canuck friends ever actually get the iPhone, then I will certainly open a two-four of Kokanee and offer them a toast. Unfortunately, I suspect that unless a torch-bearing mob storms the offices of Rogers Communications, no Loonies will be spent on iPhone purchases for quite awhile.

  8. No way iPhone will get here if not 3G capable. There is no competition for Rogers so Apple has no leverage with expensive data plans. Little to complicated for the saturated blackberry market. We waited for a year for iTunes. And 3 years for TV programs and will wait for iPhone ultimately …

  9. I was in an Apple reseller today in Calgary. They all had unlocked iPhones – I was told that they had heard from ‘sources’ that the iphone would be released in Canada in 4-6 weeks. Let’s hope so!

  10. CANMOREMD – WHERE WERE YOU IN CALGARY?! WHAT STORE?! I have been trying to find ones that are a little cheaper than 750! (and more reliable than some dude on the street that hacks them)
Im gonna wait until the 3G phone tho. Sucks, but maybe by then, the phone monopolies will change their game a little bit (Wishful thinking)

  11. Westworld computers. They had all bought their phones in the US and unlocked them using Ziphone. The one guy got his in Colorado for $500. Apparently the hack using ziphone is simple and quick. Here’s hoping we have 3G iPhones in Canada soon – I’ll be buying one in the US if they’re not here by June.
