Apple debuts new iPod touch ad (with video)

Apple has debuted a new iPod touch ad called “Grid” which features the song “What I’m Looking For” by Brendan Benson.

The new ad, which aired during Fox’s “American Idol” and also on other networks, shows the myriad things you can do with an iPod touch with several of the devices laid out in a loose grid-like pattern on a wooden surface:

  1. How many people are going to watch this commercial, see about 20 different ipod Touches on a table with different things on each one and wonder if a person has to buy a different ipod Touch for a different function???

“I like the map iTouch, but I need a photo iTouch, too.”

  2. lol never again…..

so, because you can’t a) buy a case or b) be trusted to hold things you are going to stick to macs.

i wish other people worked that way.

“broke another country today, and the third economy this week, not to mention that whole invasion thing. guess i will stay out of the leadership thing.” -signed, the republicans.

“messed up my 6th straight OS. gonna stop making those things.” -signed MS.

“crap, yet another thing discovered about the world that we were totally wrong about. man i thought that round earth thing was going to be the last issue, not the first in a long run! we are going to just stop talking about reality from now on.” -signed, organized religion.

man how would the world be….

  3. yes, has anybody seen the zUNE commercials?
with those freaky beings straight from the horror movies…
any many wonder why Apple sells iPods by the bucketload.
The zUNE Commercials don’t focus on the product, but on nightmarish creatures and when the ad is over, you ask yourself: “What the f*beep* was that all aboout?”

I love Apples ads. – straight tho the point and the product.

(and yes, i have written zUNE intentionally wrong just like a certain somebody who does this with macs.)

  4. Uhm, how long did you own the Touch before you dropped it? Unless you used cash, lots of credit cards have damage insurance. So, if you drop your Touch in the first three months, you can get a full replacement.

  5. @Beryllium

    Brilliant!

    Does it come in aluminum?

And, do I have a choice of either “glossy” or “matte” finish?

What about a “Pro” version that can handle 20lbs?

I hear the Microsoft version “ZunePoo” is coming out in 2013. They might have a problem with the design spec I saw, the laptop docking station, the Zune dock and speakers are all inside the bowl. Oh well its an appropriate place for crap anyway. And, by the way you have to purchase and hook-up a MS “bigasstable” to be able to flush it.

  6. @BMTOCDN

I don’t know if it comes in aluminum, but wouldn’t that be very cold?

I also don’t know if glossy or matte finish is available.

I think it needs a docking station to be certain that derrieres line up properly with the seat. Especially if these devices show up in public rest rooms.

  7. “@Shen
    lol never again…..”

I really could do without your smartassed fanboy rants. I dropped a 16 gig touch and the screen is broken. It’s finished. $400 down the drain. I was going to go buy a new 16 gig iPhone next Friday with my Income tax refund, but I won’t because, YES, I do tend to be rough on stuff, and Yes, I have dropped my blackberry 30 feet onto concrete and while it’s banged up. it’s not junk….

I have a 2 Macs and I love them. The iPhone/Touch doesn’t fit my style. Pardon me for not Drooling everytime Steve Jobs farts.
