After reading “Apple to debut ‘MacBook Air’ on Tuesday?” MacDailyNews reader “mango” did a little research on “MacBook Air” and found that it’s an Apple owned domain name.
The Whois domain name lookup won’t list any info using macbookair.com or .net, but macbookair.org shows the address:
Admin Street1: 303 Second Street
Admin Street2: Suite 800N
Admin City: San Francisco
Admin State/Province: CA
And macbookair.us, macbookair.biz, and macbookair.info show the same address, but with additional information:
Billing Street1: 1 Infinite Loop
Billing Street2: Mail Stop 3-TM
Billing City: Cupertino
Billing State/Province: CA
Domain Registration Date: Fri Jan 11 22:49:59 GMT 2008

The San Francisco address mentioned in the article is being leased by a company named MarkMonitor. Website claims to have half of the Fortune100 as clients, but it all just doesn’t look right. AFAICT, these guys registered the names by themselves, hoping that Apple will be grateful for handing them over.
Nevermind the last remark, the folks at MarkMonitor apparently manage several international Apple domain names already, so in any case, they’re doing this because they’re being asked to. Whether there’ll be a MacBook Air remains to be seen.

If you would have read the headline, it stated that you couldn’t see the owner using .com or .net….but if you use the .biz, .info, or .us, it shows 1 infinite loop Cupertino, which means that Apple would have purchased them all! Wake up dude, and trust what’s in between the lines!
