it HAS to be said…..my laptop is snappier ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
Now my dog is pregnant and he’s snappier. Understandably.
Software update did its thing, but when the Firmware Updater Launched, and I clicked the Shutdown button to begin, I got an error message stating that my firmware could not be updated.
Any one else?
!>!?!?!?!?!??!
holy crapzzzzz.. this unlocked my core duo and now its a core 2 duo!?!!?
@Willie G
Thought it was just ME, but the forum on Apple is aflame with the same observation/problem. Looks like a dropped ball on this one.
Well, cool.. I’ll just wait patiently for the fix.
Gotta link to the thread?
VersionTracker reactions are the same as ours, WG. A “no go” all around.
I clicked shutdown button and held the power button until the long tone as per the instructions. It installed fine.
Not getting it on software update all i got was iwork/iweb updates 🙁
On a 17″ MBP 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo
Downloaded it from Apple’s site ran it said I didn’t need this update but my boot rom is MBP31.0070.B02 and not MBP31.0070.B03 🙁
Worked fine for me too. first time i didn’t hold the power button down long enough: I let go after the sleep light flashed, but before the tone sounded.
And how come I heard the tone clear as day when I had headphones plugged in?? Is there some secret Firmware Speaker in my MacBook Pro??
snappiest update so far!
makes me very snappy!
Worked great for me! I can’t believe how quick my MBP boots now!
I had the same problem at first (error could not update) but when I hit cancel on the dialog it went through and shutdown the computer, I did the power up thing as instructed and the firmware installed without a hitch from there on…
Is this update just for Intel Core Duo 2 or i can update this firmware on my Macbook Pro 2Ghz Core Duo?
Twisted, you also have a twisted dog if HE is pregnant:
“Now my dog is pregnant and he’s snappier.”
did it easy and simple
held power down until rapid flashes and released
tone sounded
updated and rebooted fine
i have a MBP Core 2 Duo
Everything seemed fine after the initial update but now my system won’t recognize my built in speakers OR my airport card. No internet on my laptop and no sound on my DVDs. Sweet. Apple care gave me the runaround for over an hour (of wasted cell phone minutes) and now they’re closed and I’m up a creek with TONS of infranet manadatory work to do on my laptop. They really screwed me on this one.
Hi all
I just updated my firmware to, and my MBP 2.33 GHz CORE 2 DUO works fine so fare BUT my background image on my desktop will not show no more..
Any ideas???
I just spent a LOT on photo equipment and I can´t show off ;(…
why would you apply an update to your computer’s firmware when you know you need to do work?
thats a “dog ate my homework” if I ever heard one.
I tried switching fingers on the power button and i guess it shut down; now my macbook pro won’t reboot properly; it was some sort of firmware update… can someone tell me how to fix?
thanks
