Apple confirms Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to ship on schedule in spring 2007

Apple StoreRegarding DigiTimes’ rumor report that Apple would be postponing Mac OS X Leopard until October in order to — of all things — support Windows Vista in Boot Camp:

“Just spoke with Apple who confirmed the reports are wrong and Leopard is still scheduled to ship in this spring as they previously announced. The rumor mill is wrong again,” Michael Gartenberg reports in his JupiterResearch blog.

  1. > Don’t wait until you are 40 to realize this, life’s to short. You only have 80 summers to play and enjoy life, how will you spend this one?>

I’m on my 75th one. You don’t know what old is-I do.

Still fit, fiesty & functioning. Can’t wait to get my new Mac–after the Leopard enters.

MW-work, as in -I work hard, all the time. Coaching.

Where I work it is all about office too. People can’t type three sentences in an email. They’d rather do it in word and send you the file. Anyway believe it or not I don’t use office. Anything I need from other workers open file in NeoOffice. IF it is a complex layout with tables and so on, it get’s a little whacked sometimes but it is never anything more than a couple tweaks to get it right. Honestly I tell them not to buy me Office because I won’t use it, they do anyway. M$’s entire strategy of selling software is based on ‘everyone else has it’ so I refuse to give in.

  3. @alansky: “Does anyone besides me think it’s really interesting how the talk about Vista has almost totally dried up? It’s like Vista doesn’t even exist—which would be no great loss, I must admit!”

If you live in an Apple centric world then that´s all you will hear. Most Windows people will not upgrade their current computer to Vista, they will just go buy a new Windows computer. Why buy Vista software when you can buy a new computer and get Vista, too?

Remember out of every 100 computers sold today 92-96 will be Windows computers. Windows Vista computers that is….

  4. >The reasoning behind the delay was uterly rediculous and now we have got confirmation that it is totally untrue.>

Yeah it’s red-iculous. Is that Russian for ridiculous? Not to mention ‘uterly’.

  5. One of the secret feature sets to come out in Leopard will revolve around sound, and will be integrated into new MacBook/Pro hardware. Few expect this, but some will remember tweaks just before the Leopard release.

Featuring: “virtual headphones/focused sound” – everyone will be talking about: iSound.

  6. I downloaded and try to use Neo Office whenever I need to open a Word of Powerpoint document. (Which, fortunately isn’t very often).

The word side seems to work pretty well.

Powerpoint on the other hand won’t open a slide show. All I can see are the individual frames.
