In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ms. PAC-MAN, Namco Networks today announced the availability of Ms. PAC-MAN on the iTunes Store for fans to purchase and download for play on the fifth generation iPod. She joins PAC-MAN, which launched last September on iTunes, and is expected to be another must-have for iPod owners. Ms. PAC-MAN is available for purchase for US$4.99 on the iTunes Store.
“Appearing on almost every gaming platform, Ms. PAC-MAN has achieved iconic status since debuting 25 years ago and has become one of the top-selling video games in history,” said Scott Rubin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Namco Networks, in the press release. “Launching on the iPod is a great way to kick-off a year-long anniversary celebration.”
Fans’ favorite features are available in Ms. PAC-MAN on the iPod, including the four unique maze designs, 256 maze levels and the “coffee break” animated intervals from the original game. The iPod version also features retro art from the original arcade cabinet and a tutorial level, which allows players to perfect their ghost avoidance skills. This version also allows players to listen to the original retro game sounds or music from their fifth generation iPod library while playing.
Ms. PAC-MAN debuted in 1982 and was an instant classic, especially to an audience who was already hooked on PAC-MAN and was looking for the next dot-chomping challenge. Appearing on everything from backpacks to lunch boxes, Ms. PAC-MAN has become one of the most recognizable icons worldwide.

Now we need Frogger to come next…
YES!!! Frogger…
How about Tapper? Anyone remember that classic? It was the only video game I ever played with a place to set your beer. (Ah, college…)
Yes, I remember Tapper!
I played that on my Apple //e… Ah, good times, good times…
Galaga anyone? I spent tons on that game in my lifetime.
How about Marathon, I heard they are releasing Marathon next for the iPod.
By the way speaking of Ms. Pacman, did you ever fart so hard you ended up in another zip code?
Defender!!!!!
I know we are just reminiscing, but most of those games simply would not work on the iPod. Controls just aren’t right. However, Tempest would work!
EWR, did you know that Tapper came in a kid and adult version. The kid version you got to pour root beer.
For those that don’t know, you can play all of those old original games with MacMAME on your Mac! I personally enjoy Crazy Climber!!!
JvW
(doing my best Homer Simpson imitation)
“Mmmmmmmm….. galaga and donuts…. Mmmmmmmmmmmm”
Yes, Tempest would rock! How about Missile Command or Beserk? Those were some of my favorite games back then along with Centipede, the Pac-Mans and Defender.
MW: “play”as in they were all about Game play
I can’t get it to download all the way. It says file corrupted check for purchases to redownload. What the????

Did you mean CRAZY climber, or CANYON climber?
I have played canyon climber before, never crazy…. again, this is Apple //e from what would have been around 1984/85.
Omega Race!
Could a game be more ideal for the iPod.
TEMPEST people. Tempest
