“A new year can mean many things, but to Macintosh enthusiasts, it means one very special thing – Macworld,” Jim Rossman reports for The Dallas Morning News.
“The yearly gathering of Macintosh users and vendors and a visit from Apple chief executive Steve Jobs is just around the corner,” Rossman reports. “A Steve Jobs Macworld keynote address is the one time during the year when we can count on Apple unveiling new products.”
Rossman reports, “Apple has a reputation of keeping new product releases close to the vest. This only serves as kindling wood to the rumor-fires that start around the first of December. Rumor surfing is something that can’t be helped for the hard-core Mac aficionado.”
Rossman checks in with a few of the rumors on the Net to see what the world is expecting Steve Jobs to unveil on Jan. 9:
• ‘iTV’
• Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
• iPhone
• 12-inch MacBook Pro
• ‘True video iPod’
