SlingPlayer for Mac OS X Public Beta released

Sling Media has released SlingPlayer for Mac OS X Public Beta for download.

System Requirements:
• PowerPC 600 MHz or Intel Core Duo 1 GHz
• Mac OS X 10.4 (10.3 support coming soon)
• 256MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
• 100MB Free Hard Disk Space
• 1024×768, thousands of colors display (millions of colors recommended)
• Ethernet Network Connectivity (wired, 802.11 a/b/g, or Powerline)

    It’s a piece of hardware about the size of a large book that plugs between your cable connection and network adapter to stream the TV signal in your home out across the Internet. The beta software mentioned above completes the set-up by enabling your laptop to pick up the streamed video. In other words, you can watch your home cable TV from your laptop when you’re on the road, or even overseas, provided you have an internet connection. Two more expensive versions also allow you to remotely control and stream content from a DVR or home theater system.
