W00t. Frist??
Any reports of this correcting the iChatAV -8 error due to SIPs and WRT54G routers?
YES!!! It’s always a happy day when we get an OS X update.
still prefer 10.3.9 over Tiger. :[
Already running it…
Morgan,
Why??? Does 10.3.9 run better for you? I agree that it was the best version of Panther released (with 10.3.6 at #2), but Tiger runs WAY better on my Cube than Panther ever did, and Dashboard has become indispensable to me. I couldn’t imagine going back to Panther.
Me too! dumped 10.4.3 and went back to Panther. Spotlight is a disgrace, esp. if you have an organized setup. Also Freehand sucks under 10.4.x. Modo and C4D works better tho.
“performance of the translation widget”
It’s about damn time!
I am with you Kevin. The “performance of the translation widget” has had a major impact on my company’s decision to continue using Macintosh.
Which means Aperture is about to drop! 😀
Anything in this for improved performance and bug fixes for iLife suite?
EAP-FAST protocol? What is that?
Freehand sucks anyway
Miro: Spotlight is “a disgrace”?
May I diffidently suggest that you haven’t got it working properly? This happened to me twice. There are command-line statements for ditching each volume’s spotlight directory and forcing the OS to rebuild them all. Once that’s done, Spotlight performs incredibly well (as opposed to before that maintenance, when all it could do was vaguely remember filenames).
I Like Panther.
Never crashed once on me.
Tiger can be a bitch.
(Nicer eye-candy though)
i just installed 10.4.8 on my macbook pro.. it feels very fast!! i think it fixed something because my apps are starting up much faster…
今では変換の仕掛は極度の大変で幸せな楽しみの喜びの喜びである!
But still no Klingon?
Miro
both spotlight and Freehand work very well for me under 10.4
What sort of problems are you getting ?
st1,
Probably because the installer updated the prebindings. Apps start faster after that, I believe.
For the Panther folks: Really? I could never go back to Panther. Tiger is amazing. I can’t think of anything about it I don’t like. Panther feels slow to me, compared to Tiger.
We’re running out of room for point updates. Bring on Leopard!
Everything seems snappier. Even my refrigerator seems snappier.
THIS UPDATE BROKE MY MACBOOK PRO.
mudflapper,
I use Tiger.
Yes, even prefer it over over Panther. But Panther was rock solid reliable.
Always.
Tiger is sometimes sloppy.
Tiger still feels like a point zero version… (hopefully not .8!)
I’d like Tiger to run like Panther, thats all.
Note the huge differene in size between the Intel & PPC client versions of the update?
206 MB vs 31MB
Wow!
Yeh, Spotlight had too many errors translating Ferengi to Romulan so I went back to OS 9.
