A crowd of people that easily exceeded three hundred waited patiently this morning for Apple latest retail store grand opening. Apple Store Crabtree Valley Mall opened this morning at 10am EDT in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is North Carolina’s third store after Charlotte and Durham. To celebrate the Grand Opening, Apple is featuring a week of exciting events. In the store, Apple will have a variety of unique and educational presentations, demonstrations and workshops — all free of charge.
The first 1000 people that visited the Apple store received a free Apple Store Crabtree Valley Mall T-shirt. Some of those should be hitting eBay soon. Visitors also entered the Grand Opening Sweepstakes to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection valued at $2229. The winner will receive a 17-inch flat-panel Intel Core Duo iMac, an iPod nano, a Canon PowerShot SD450 digital camera, a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV138, and an HP Deskjet 5440 printer.

Went to Target today and tried to play with the Apple boombox. The iPod had no music loaded on it. So how are you supposed to try out Apple products if they aren’t prepared to be tested.
This is why Apple products will suffer in Bestbuy, target and compUSA. The store displays are awful. Good thing apple has a local store less than a mile away.
iPod HiFi is nothing of the sort, a Bose Wave Radio sounds better.

I would suggest bringing your own iPod (BYOP?) to try out the HiFi. I’d want to know how my music sounded on it anyway.
Reminds me of my old technique for getting a salesperson’s attention at any electronics store. Just put in something like a White Zombie CD in one of the stereos and CRANK it all the way up. You’ll get helped in no time!

A recent article said Dell stores wont sell products in stores, just only on sheld display, all will be ordered online in store becuz walkout store purchases will cost more. A recent article said Dell stated this.
I use Apple, and will only use Apple, so if I were to ever buy a dell ( Which I Won’t ) it would be easier to get it online at home, so whats the point for a Dell store if everything will still be orded online at the store? No store walkout purchases like at Apple Store, Only long line I can think of at A Dell store opening is people with maintenece, repair, or tech issues.
