RUMOR: No Intel-based Apple Mac debut at Macworld Expo in January 2006

“Apple says not to expect Intel at Macworld, in fact don’t expect any new computer hardware. I have contact with someone that works for Apple at a higher level, when asked if they were attending Macworld he said he [was] told that they shouldn’t go,” Derek Picone reports for TechWB. “Typically if there is a big announcement they are expected to attend.”

Picone reports, “This means that for anyone hoping for the new Intel computers your [sic] out of luck, no hardware will be announced except for maybe the normal speed boosts since those wouldn’t be any reason for them to attend. The only announcements will be coming from the other non computer hardware departments such as new iPods, iSight, Monitors, Programs, and other software and accessories.”

  1. ok, i’ve had it. you guys are all FREAKING MORONS.( I’ll get into that in a bit ). But first, lets all bow before MacDailyNews, LORD OF THE IDIOTS for even posting such rubbish. Lets break down this logic here. Some faggot, with access to blog software (pretty much any average joe) blazes up a phatty and whips up some fabricated piece of shit to get links and these idiots and you idiots not only give it to him, you talk about it like morons for 8 hours all the while generating all this ad revenue for LORD OF THE IDIOTS while you are wasting your time in life and even reading this you have lost precious seconds (maybe minutes of u read slow) of your life that you will never get back, and to make it even worse, i’ll clue you in to a little somethings: this sentance has been going on for 6 lines now without a period and I bet you’re still reading this? Why? See those are question marks, like the one is baba ganoush when he asked while PhilR snorts grass water then writes stories here. Wow, period, i finally typed a PERIOD. HOLLY GOAT BALLS, are you STILL reading this? If you are reading this, your a moron who eats butternet squash and shits cabbage water JUST LIKE PHIL SCHILLER. Also want to give a little shout out to my main main, lead faggator, KenC. Sup negro? How’s it hanging. You wanna know how to make eggplant parmigiana? first u wash the egg plant, t hen you cut then, oh shit, i just passed gas and it blew the flower all over. oh man, shucks., wait, what is going on? where were we? oh talkinmg about what a pansy ass cracker KenC and his girlfriend zupchuck. Now anyone who knows zupchuck knows that hes a fruitbasket-and-a-half. oh man, and he has more berries than apples. oh crap, i gotta go set of a blast from the past (make a deposit(drop the mother load) move a bawol) drop a duex)))))) on Odyssey67’s head.

  2. Yeah, you guys are all faggots. And no, MDN shouldnt have posted this story but they had to make some xtra money from the advertisements. Now we have idiots talking about eating butternut squash and excreting cabbage water on a Mac site.

  3. The only one making any sense in here is Rainy Day, and that’s cause he really is a little fruity (I know him in real life). I happen to have a PHD in Pediatrics and can confirm that there is no way you can shit cabbage water if you ate a butternut squash. If you do, you have serious problems and should see a doctor immediately.

  4. That’s not what he is saying. He’s saying u need this recipe if you want cabbage water to come firing out your rear-end like a fire hose. It takes a whole week to make, but once it’s done, it’s worth it. I once hovered above the ground for a full 45 seconds because i was passing so much gas that the pressure lifted me off my seat. i was weightless for at least 45 seconds, maybe more. WARNING: don;t eat to much or you wont be able to sit back dont when all the gas is blown out.

Basic cabbage soup diet recipe from Sharon, shared on our forum.
    INGREDIENTS:

6 large green onions (1 bunch)
    2 green bell peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (14.5 ounce size, diced or whole)
    1 bunch celery, sliced
    1/2 head cabbage, chopped
1 package (Lipton) onion soup mix
1 or 2 cubes bouillon (optional)
    1 48 oz can V8 juice (optional)
Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.*
    PREPARATION:

Simmer or slow cook all until soup is done. *If slow cooking, add seasonings about an hour before done. Eat all the soup you want, whenever you want. This is the basic plan, shared by Sharon.
First Day – All fruit is fine, except bananas; soup
Day 2 – Any and all vegetables, baked potato with butter for dinner; soup
Day 3 – Combine Day 1 and 2, without potato; soup
Day 4 – Up to six bananas, all the skim milk you want; soup
Day 5 – 10 to 20 ounces of beef, a can of tomatoes, 6 to 8 glasses of water; soup
Day 6 – All the beef and vegetables you want; soup
Day 7 – Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables; soup

  5. Most people at Apple don’t know of any new products, until the product is released. Steve Jobs favorite saying is ” lose lips, sink ships” only a few people at Apple, know what products are coming.

  6. >>>> As regards software not being ready: There actually are quite a few apps which are already universal binaries. For those that aren’t, it’s not wise to wait till they are (i.e. Apple might never ship an Intel Mac). Look how long it took Adobe to make a MacOS X build! <<<<

    FEW is the key word.

There are FEW universal binary apps available, NOW!

    FEW apps means NO SALE!

  7. Patience. Nobody has ever released something computer related 6 months early when they said it would take a year. It be too incredible for anybody to do that.

And why Yonah? How is that related to the chips Intel are working on that won’t be released until about the same time the new Macs with Intel processors will be released? Didn’t anybody pay attention to the keynote a half year ago? It involved Intel’s roadmap of their new processors designed for less power consumption, not some revamped old processor line.

And it’s too soon. Releasing a game console with only a dozen and a half games wasn’t very enticing for a lot of gamers: not enough variety and very few unique to the console. A computer is more than a game console, and so there better be a lot more available. Don’t forget about drivers for peripherals and PCI cards.

The Mac developers need time to not only make universal binaries but also provide a a way for current customers to get them. That takes time and resources. It doesn’t happen in six months, and for many it won’t happen in a year. But I wouldn’t doubt for most it can happen in two and half years, as is planned. Giving developers a year means more apps available, more time to optimize Rosetta for those older programs that won’t be recompiled, and more time to make Rosetta actually work with more of the programs it doesn’t work with right now.

Keep in mind, maybe Mac OS X has been made to work with a different processor for the last several years, but none of the non-Apple Mac apps have had a chance to do the same until earlier this year. Patience. It also gives everyone time to save money. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  8. Hey – all I wanna know is, why didn’t anyone tell me I had a duex on my head?

    How embarrassing. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”red face” style=”border:0;” />

  9. The guy originally said that it was an Applecare tech who told him after he made his weekly call to the head people at Apple. Now he’s changed it to some guy who’s “higher” at Apple?

    Hahahahahaha!

    Bozo.

  10. @ thorn Apple’s been working on this for more than 5 years, without anybody knowing. Do you think people know if it’s ready or not in January. Only what developers are alowed to tell the public.

  11. Oh no – I have just become the happy owner op a 23″ ACD , and now I can expect a new line of ACDs with built in iSight… I guess you can´t have your cake and eat it too.

    Love the screen tough ! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”shut eye” style=”border:0;” />

  12. Wow.. I just spent 20 minutes reading all this pile of garbage over some looser lame-assed little punks idea of a good way to spread a rumor. And guess what, you ALL fell for it. Whatever is going to be released will be released, whatever is to come later on is to come later on. Get a grip on reality and go for a coffee people, cause right now you guys just kept me entertained on my 12′ powerbook in Blenz Coffee Co for a whole 20 minutes! I even pointed out the soup recipie to a guy beside me and even HE started lauging at this garbage. Intel based macs ARE coming. We all know that. When? WHEN THEY GET HERE! Now if yas will all excuse me, the girl behind the counter is fucking hawt and I need more coffee, and a blow job behind the espresso machine. I bid thee all ado.

  13. whel what i think is that apple arnt ready for the change, and i personaly dont think that it is a chnge for the good i think apple are doing this to get back at IBM.

PLZ APPLE TAKE YOUR TIME DONT BRING SOMTHING OUT THAT DOSENT WORK PROPERLY BRING SOMTHING OUT THAT IS SOLID.

  14. UNIX, if you know anything about Apple, you should know that they only release products that are what they are supposed to be, not duct taped together old garbage like M$ does all the time.
And yo girl behind the counter, I know that ain’t you cause ya was all smiles when you gave me your number yesterday :p Mind you I stil haven’t gotten what I was looking for, might cost me a movie and diner or something lol.
What was I saying here again.. oh ya, Apple is most probably the smartest marketers I have ever seen, I look forward to whatever it is they have planned, but not with any high expectations and definatly nothing specific, because honestly we all have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. They could spread an Intel rumour and come out with something we all never evn dreamed of before that totaly kicks M$ ass (as usual). Anyway, off to the coffee shop I go! Hope MDN has some new shit posted by the time I get there, this old garbage is boring me now.
