President Bush shows off his Apple iPod (link to video)

“Ever wondered what the most powerful man in the world listens to in his spare time? In a rare departure from formal media interviews, George Bush has revealed what is on his personal IPod. Andrew Wilson reports on the President’s favourite tunes,” Sky News reports.

President Bush gets out his 4G iPod and reads some of the songs contained within: The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Alan Jackson, The Archies, Aretha Franklin, “Dan McLean,” upon which Bush was corrected “Don McLean” by Brit Hume, and more. Bush also has an iPod shuffle for bike riding. Bush also says U2’s Bono showed him the new Apple iPod 5G. “My iPod is a clunker, the newer version is much lighter” compared to the new 5G video-capable iPod, Bush said.

  1. doncha just love these MDNs open invitations to bash Bush ? …
(not that he hasn’t given us ample opportunity to bash him)

But what is even more strange, is the lack of the right wing-nuts (posting here) who are bashing the Bush bashers !!

    MDN MW: “Party”
as in … party on !!

  2. Yeah, all this Bush bashing is like liberals getting that little rubber medical hammer hitting their “funny bone”. Course such an instrument would not be used on their spine because of the obvious reason that their species doesn’t have one. Anything the man says or does is fodder for their cannons. Go Bush, Go iPod…

MDN word: society Oh the irony!

  3. Well done Mark, great line there… “George Bush is awesome! Thank god the french democrats aren’t running things. The terrorists would be running things by now.”

Just wait for history to run its course… because when Iraq is free, democratic and an example to the rest of the Middle East – in a year or two – people will have to shut up about the ‘war’ and how wrong it was.

  4. Amazing, the President of the United States doing a free ad for the iPod.

We should all be real happy.

(And you notice how even knew how it worked and the different models. Apple fan or what!)

  5. I would think that everyone wants Iraq to work out. That’s the difference between *REAL* patriots and fake ones. The real ones saw all the lies and bullshit and incompetence of Bush’s plan to invade Iraq, and called ’em out on it, but at the same time hoped that in the end it DOES work out for this country and the world. The fake ones ate up all the bullshit like lemmings and are more concerned about “being right” than being truthful. And that goes for some leftists as well. Most people on the left that I know *want* Iraq to make it to a stable democratic government. I know it’s hard to imagine for an idealistic neo-con that eats up all the bullshit they are fed on Fox news nightly, but most Liberals are more patriotic than you can imagine.

  6. Kerry spent 3 months “in country”

Good enough for me. How many months did you spend “in country” to give you the right to call our soldiers “cowards”. Is your MO to undermine brave US soldiers? Are you working for the terrorists?

  7. you can always tell those who actually believe Fox News is actually “real” news…. These are the ones who blame all of our countrys ills on those “darned liberals” …

I’ve got news for you kumquats …. the liberals aren’t the enemy here !
Our country was founded on a free exchange of ideas ! .. This means that both the liberal and the conservative points of view are equally valid and equally important for our country to grow !

And those Fox News watchers, who would have you believe otherwise, are not only dangerous to the American way of life .. but they are also showing their ignorance !

  8. I’m Nick’s leaking ass. I can tell you that I’d MUCH rather have a hummer-receiving, philandering, sycophantic, wife-hating, missle-launching, flip-flopper in the White House who actually said that “we can’t give that money back to the people, we’re not sure they’d spend it correctly.”

No thanks, Nick’s Leaking Ass — I’ll take George Bush any day, you CNN suckhole.

  9. At least Bush freely comes out and says he uses an iPod.

If it were Kerry, he’d take a poll before the interview and make sure he had an iPod, a Creative, and some other POS player in his pocket so he wouldn’t “offend” anybody with the wrong choice.

Spineless liberals deserve their spineless “leaders” (Nancy “Harpie” Pelosi) and their gutless, sell-out, spineless allies (France).

  10. Hey, Spank, lemme help you: “Kerry spent 3 months ‘in country’… and THEN tried to MAKE like it was much, much more than that. At the very least, the guy posed (during his fifteen minutes) as a war hero, when clearly he was anything BUT. Plenty of folks have spent time “in country” and not lied about it. Now, about Fox… and the “bullshit” they supposedly feed us, Mr. I’m-Not-Biased. What do YOU watch, CNN? Or do you prefer the network that Dan Rather called home? Lovin’ that NYTimes are ya? So… can you tell me exactly which story Fox has “fed” us recently that was erroneous, or even biased? (I’ll double your output while limiting myself to any other network.) Clue: There’s a REASON why folks have made Fox #1… and it ain’t because we’re all “righty-tighties,” either. Somebody needs to call you on your own bullshit.

  11. mac dood, you seem to know soooo much about Fox, and all their doo-doo head watchers who actually believe Fox is presenting “real” news. Same question we gave Sir Spanks-A-Lot goes to you: Where do YOU get your news? Please help those of us too ignorant to figure out when we’re getting FAIR reporting, will you? First off, anybody who believes everything they hear is an out of the closet moron. And if you’re going to hold up a mainstream network over Fox, in my humble opinion, you not only drank your liberal koolaid… you’ve been standing upside down with your head in a toilet full of it for a while now. But if you’ve got facts, well… let’s have ’em!

  12. stinker …

“Fair and Balanced”….. How can it be ? .. when Fox News uses the term ” Liberal” as a curse word ? …. Balanced ? …. whats your definition? ….. Fair ?? …. to whom ??

“Real Journalism” …. Do you even know what that is ??
There is an award for “Excellence in Journalism” given out every year …. its the “Oscar” for Journalism …. and its called .. “The Edward R. Murrow” award ….

Has Fox News ever achieved this standard ?
Have you ever wondered why ?

So, you go on your rampage about those “darned liberals” .. and coninue to spread the hate spewed by Fox News, and forget the fact that our forefathers actually wanted “The People” to keep a close eye on those in public office … pointing out their faults, calling them on their lies, etc.

Remember, …. no one died, when Clinton lied !

  13. Try as you might to call one of our troops who fought in Vietnam a coward, stinker, you just can’t get around it. You are shitting on a guy who went to Vietnam, fought and risked his life in honor of our country, recieved 3 purple hearts, and saved another soldiers life. Maybe you should move to Iran, I’m sure plenty of people over there would agree with your blatant disrepect for our soliders.

  14. Wow, I’m impressed that anyone of the President’s generation gets it! And, he’s exactly right, if you have an older iPod, the 5G makes it look like a “clunker”!

What I really dislike about the public discourse is the lack of civility and respect. Regardless of where you stand upon the issues, the ad hominem attacks are just rude.
