“Experience Mac OS X on your PC. With CherryOS — a G4 Emulator — you can install Panther, Apple’s award-winning operating system, onto your PC. In addition, you will be able to use many of the day-to-day applications such as Safari and Apple’s Mail. Perfect for learning a new environment, expanding your PC’s capabilities or finalizing your purchase decision,” Maui X-Stream’s ‘CherryOS’ states. System requirements for ‘CherryOS’ are: “PC with Intel® (Pentium®, Pentium M®, Xeon™) or AMD (Athlon™, Opteron™, Duron™) processor. Processor must be at least 1.6 GHz.” Maui X-Stream’s ‘CherryOS’ FAQ: “Does CherryOS come with Panther? No, you will need to go to http://www.apple.com to get a copy of OS X if you do not already have one.”

But, there’s one problem, and it’s a big one. Apple Computer’s Mac OS X Software License Agreement clearly states, “This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time.”

So, while it may be legal to install ‘CherryOS’ on your PC, it doesn’t seem to be legal to install and use Mac OS X on a PC, which puts kind of a major dent in the usefulness of ‘CherryOS,’ doesn’t it?
