  1. I voted for bush because I’m retarded, dull and impressed by people like me… Bush is an inspiration for my dreams. I like his accent, his eyes are truly wonderful and I just trust him when I’m stoned. I feel safe with him because I know he won’t send me to iraq to fight his war. I voted for him beaucoup people are jealous of our freedom and our MacDonald burgers. We have the best reality shows in the world that’s why there are terrorists who hate us. USA, USA. USA. God bless America. Screw the rest axis of evil.
Kill Michael Moore, Bomb France and Germany. We are the best in this world and the rest sucks noodles.

  2. Not all Christians are right wing nut jobs. I’m a yellow dog and a liberal populist. I don’t believe in what they do and Pope George II is not my spiritual leader.

  3. How can an article on the Bible end up with a political deliberation? If you don’t like it, don’t put it on your iPod.

Liberals are the biggest advocates of choice, yet they scream when you don’t choose their ways.

  4. “How can an article on the Bible end up with a political deliberation? If you don’t like it, don’t put it on your iPod.

    So True …!

  5. Hatred of the Religious Right, and the bitter invective with which they’ve fought against peace, freedom, meekness, humility, care for the poor, sterwardship of the environment, tolerance, forgiveness, and pretty much everything else that Christ of Nazareth stood for, is NOT the same as hatred of Christianity.

I assert that the wacko fundamentalist nutjobs in the radical Religious Right movement are no more Christian than the wacko fundamentalist nutjobs in the radical Islamic Terrorist movement are Muslim.

  6. I think the Bible on your iPod is great. I wish they had a few more translations available, though. MDN, thanks for the link. To the cranky people who posted earlier, please don’t be so simple minded to think that to be a Christian means you espouse a certain political agenda. I am a fundamentalist Christian, I voted for Kerry (as a vote against Bush I admit.) and I would be generally classed as a liberal in my politics. There is, unfortunately, a problem with people not hearing the Message because of the failings of the messengers. If we all held more closely to what is written in James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and spotless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” or in Micah 6:8 “And what does the Lord God require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” the world would be a much better place.

  7. It seems to me that Jesus would be a liberal, Democrat pacifist. I don’t think he’d be impressed with our materialistic, greedy, violent culture.

It’s interesting and depressing that Christian values were inflamed with the issues of abortion and gay marriage. Yet, I read that Catholics in particular were ambivalent about Bush because his policies concerning war, capital punishment and treatment of the poor were deeply offensive to their religious beliefs.

That just goes to show you what a genius Karl Rove and his bunch are: they successfully chose a few issues that suit them to fire up the Christian right, but suppress the others where the Democrats have clear moral superiority.

  8. Oh and by the way, I think this iPod Bible is awesome. I hope Apple sells a million extra iPods to Christians.

Now let’s get a Tora, a Koran, a Bhagavad Gita, and a Tao Te Ching on there too, and really sell a pile of iPods!

  9. “Liberals are the biggest advocates of choice, yet they scream when you don’t choose their ways.”

As long as your choice doesn’t affect me or anyone I know, I couldn’t care less. I don’t want to see the 10 commandments in schools and I really don’t care if some woman wants to have an abortion.

However, if the “choices” you want make are to force your religious screed on someone else, yes, I too shall commence the screaming. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  10. Sum Yung Gai: “Hatred of the Religious Right, and the bitter invective with which they’ve fought against peace, freedom, meekness, humility, care for the poor, sterwardship of the environment, tolerance, forgiveness, and pretty much everything else that Christ of Nazareth stood for, is NOT the same as hatred of Christianity.”

Not all conservatives are Christians. Not all Christians are conservatives. Not all Christians who are conservatives are Christian Coalition/Moral Majority members. On an individual/personal level, I haven’t found liberals any more kind, peaceful, humble, wise in stewardship, tolerant, or forgiving than strong conservatives I know. If anything, they have equal failures in any/all of these areas. Which is why we all need grace … which is a good reason to have the Bible on the iPod.

  11. “Me,” point by point,

    Not all conservatives are Christians.

I agree! I never suggested otherwise. I was talking about the Religious Right. I think you’d be hard-pressed to argue that the Religious Right is not conservative.

Hint: Note the word “Right” in the phrase “Religious Right.”

    Not all Christians are conservatives.

    Exactly!

Not all Christians who are conservatives are Christian Coalition/Moral Majority members.

Interesting point, but not relevant here. I never mentioned either group.

On an individual/personal level, I haven’t found liberals any more kind, peaceful, humble, wise in stewardship, tolerant, or forgiving than strong conservatives I know.

Well maybe that’s because you distort their statements as you have mine, and make them think you’re insane. Could that be it?

If anything, they have equal failures in any/all of these areas.

No. You’re insane. The liberals haven’t launched a Holy War and killed a hundred thousand innocent civilians in Iraq. The liberals haven’t slashed programs like Public Schools to help the poor. They haven’t given massive tax breaks to the very billionaires who are giving themselves fat bonuses while laying off workers, while at the same time sending the sons of the poor off to die in their Holy War.

  12. Bush is our spiritual icon and leader. I hope that he will introduce a bill to force us all to go to church on Sundays.
And that MTV will air bible lectures 7 times a day.
Bush is our saviour, our light to heaven.
    USA, USA, USA
