Long-distance phone calls via the Internet and Mac OS X

“Imagine dumping your long-distance telephone provider because now your Mac can make all your long-distance calls,” David Zeiler writes fro The Baltimore Sun.

“Thanks to Nikotel Inc., Mac owners running OS X can use their computers’ Internet connection to make long-distance telephone calls for mere pennies, with no extra fees or plans required,” Zeiler reports.

  1. I use iChat AV for video-chatting with my relatives across the country for at least an hour a day. We don’t call each other on the phone at all any more. Free software and a $149 iSight camera – or use your digital video camera. Not a penny at all after that.
